Hello everyone! I’m hoping if those who decided to helmet or didn’t can chime in. I’m at an impasse and sort of confused.

My baby is 6 months old and was diagnosed with torticollis at 1 month. We started PT right away once we noticed but there was already a flat spot developed. Our physio sent us to Rokband for an assessment this month even though her measurements are considered mild.

Rokband was very nice people wise. But we left a 30 min appointment with a $4k bill, order deadline, and an appointment for a day to pick up. It wasn’t very informative. She measured slightly worse at the apt (physio manually measures vs the Rokband is digital) but still mild. They kept mentioning facial asymmetry and how this can cause jaw problems etc. I can’t honestly see the facial differences but I can see her ears are slightly uneven.

We saw our Paediatrician that week and since Rokband needed a prescription for the insurance we discussed with them too. They sent off a referral to BC Children’s Hospital who run their own clinic for plagiocephaly just to be sure.

We saw them today and the Paediatrician who runs the clinic said he would not recommend one for our baby. He said her head was considered normal. He also specifically was like, “Do you go to x physio?” Apparently they have a business relationship with Rokband.

I guess I’m confused on how to proceed. We have the helmet covered via insurance but I’m like, who is the right person to listen to here? The Children’s Hospital has no financial interest in the matter and while Rokband is a private company I can’t just assume they don’t know anything!

Like… do I just get the helmet cause it’s covered and stop when she’s more mild? Is that causing unnecessary stress to her? I’m scared to miss the window to correct this.

If it matters, she is fully rolling both ways and the physio said her torticollis is considered resolved. She has no motor skill impairment or unevenness etc. She is sitting with support and pushing up on her arms and nearly into plank!

I would love to hear anything you can tell me about your own helmet experiences or if you chose not to, and your child was considered mild what happened?

Just need to vent!

My husband is otherwise an exceptional partner and father. We have been so equal (or try to be as much as possible) when it comes to care for our 6 month old daughter. It’s been tough lately as we don’t have much in the way of a village. She’s EBF and im starting to get burnt out.

He went on his annual golf trip this past weekend (Thurs-Sun) and I was solo parenting the entire time. He got his own room and bed for the entire trip. Honestly I wish he just lied about that last part because im extra spicy about it 😂

Our baby doesn’t sleep through the night yet. She’s also up to eat 2-3 times overnight. She wakes at 5am no matter what for a diaper change, nibble to eat and cuddle back to sleep before waking for the day around 7. Needless to say, nights can be tough if she doesn’t go back to sleep right after eating. We didn’t have any crazy bad nights while he was away, but again, with no help overnight multiple days and nights in a row I was just physically done.

So he gets home last night and she had one of the worst nights she’s had in a long time (potentially teething related). He helped get her back to sleep after I was up for an hour with her at 2am. I was annoyed it took him so long to get up an help me.

Then this morning she wakes at 530am for her normal routine and he just stayed asleep. Fine. Come back to bed and she is babbling a little bit and he looks over and says, “Can I go back to sleep?” As if he hadn’t been? I was like dude you’ve been asleep. He mentions she’s been babbling as if to suggest she was keeping him awake.

So I get up and take her to the living room for her full wake window. Once she was ready for her morning nap he got up and rocked her to sleep so I could use the bathroom. She’s down for the morning nap now and he’s back to bed (he has today off).

Idk. I’m about to smother him.

How do you handle vacations like this? Am I out of line with my reaction here?

Edit: I can’t reply to everyone but thank you so much for all giving me some advice and a little push to communicate my feelings with my husband about this. It seems like everyone has a way of splitting solo vacations and solo parenting and I really will be taking some of it to use in practice with our life now!

I did end up speaking to him about this and he was apologetic and receptive about how it was shit of him to basically assume he would get a 5th day off. And then I went and had a 2 hour nap 😆

Hard to believe we're upon another year of clientele sale, time truly does fly.

Our little community continues to grow during each sale, and every sale we see a huge influx of new members. If you're new here, hi!

With Clientele starting, we wanted to take a minute to remind everyone of the rules again (please read in the sidebar!), but specifically in relation to the sale, please remember that hauls in the format of a screenshot of your cart/order are prohibited.

We implemented this rule a few years ago for a few reasons:

1. Causing a doubled up effect -- once you receive your items and upload fit pics, there is in essence the same post twice in the sub/mod queue.

Uploading screenshots of your haul in this way will result in a temporary mute from the group. We know this feels harsh but as the group grows each year it becomes more and more difficult to stay on top of these rule breaks, and we have no other way to enforce rules!

With that in mind, hauls can be posted as: fit pics or at lays. We don’t allow self promotion to IG or TikTok at all so please no links to videos!

This year, we will also have a separate discussion thread for the new style of Influence/Deinfleunce Me posts.

Additionally, once we have confirmed dates and sale amounts per brand we will pin them in this thread.

Moving forward please keep any and all clientele sale posts here!

Everything else will be removed from the main feed.

Every time a clientele sale rolls around I am shocked how quickly time is passing! With every new year and sale our little community continues to really grow, so if you’re new here, welcome!

Right now, we’re seeing a lot of pre sale discussion and carts etc. We also anticipate about 50 a day (joking! Sort of!) the closer we get asking about dates, tiers, Canada vs USA etc etc.

In terms of dates etc, rumours are that it will be June 1st for the first tier and go from there. Once we receive confirmations in emails we will post them below! Or if you have this information please feel free to share 🤓

For now, please use this thread to discuss ANYTHING related to clientele sale. This includes posts about what you may buy, screenshots of carts etc etc. Anything will be removed from the main feed.
