Chine not working when doorbell pressed

I have the Reolink video doorbell WiFi which is hardwired with a home hub (non pro model)

The original chime that came with the doorbell stopped notifying us if the doorbell was pressed, so got a new chime which was compatible with the home hub. This is all setup and connected and shows as online in the Reolink app on phone. But as with the original chime no audio is played when someone presses the doorbell, but I can perform the test successfully within the app.

We need the chimes working as they are in different parts of the house and notifications from the doorbell are so slow even when try to connect to view it slow or when it pops on the FireCube, by the time it displays people have gone.

So does anyone know how to get these working, will it be a case of resetting the original doorbell and chime, the new chime and the HomeHub.

Thanks

Ultra Boost Offers no decent one

There are a lot of posts mentioning that users can get ultra boost for £4 a month, yet when I went through cancellation I never received that offer. So have waited for subscription to expire and looked at offers for UB again and yet again no offers for UB, even if I select the option that says 7 days free it automatically removes that as I’m not a new customer.

So how are people getting these offers, is it just random if you get the offer?

Cheers

Update 5th August: Finally got the ultra boost offer 6 months for £4.

Thanks all for the input

OpenReach keep delaying upgrade

We missed out on Zzoomm a few years back because our pole required replacing, which was finally done in February this year.
Since then they’ve been out and linked up a new pole further down street which is feed from our pole. This was installed ready to upgrade users to FFTP.

We’ve had email saying the following

You might have seen our vans in your area as our engineers are working to upgrade our broadband network to Full Fibre. Our plans to build to this property aren't confirmed yet, but they could be soon.

We have also received mail shots from EE saying will be in my area soon. An email I got from OpenReach the other year stated we would be connected via 31 July 2026. The one network shows when OpenReach have planned works but they never show up (were supposed to be last week).

So could this be delayed by months as FNS when they working said it takes our council more than 6 weeks to approve road closures, etc and if they miss or work can’t be carried out they have to resubmit the request delaying the works further.

I work from home and on gfast (not EE) and dropping to a lower speed is a no go for me, so anxious to know when they will upgrade us.

Does Zen provide 1.6Gbs for home users

As title say does Zen offer 1.6Gbps for home users on OpenReach or is it just for business users.

Hopefully within next month or so we should be migrating to FTTP and I know other providers do 1.6Gbps but not seen much on Zen to say they do

Ultra Boost offers

My current tv/cinema end in December so can’t do anything on that side yet :(

My ultra boost ends in couple of weeks and gone through cancelling it, but not choose offers yet. Is the £6 offer the best (not interested in the hd version at £3). Or should I wait a bit to see if get better offer.

Thanks

Must I use dealership for oil change while under warranty

Just want to check before ringing dealership to ensure not getting incorrect information.

I got my Arona S in September and it says will require oil change in xx days, can I take to my local garage (which would be cheaper and within walking distance) and get it done or must it be via dealership.

Thanks

UK Seat Arona S (2025) Rear seatbelt query

I’ve only recently noticed on the rear seat belts, the middle belt can’t actually be used to secure someone due to a stopper being installed.

If they need to be there then would expect them to be other way round. Would the garage/dealership need to swap them over or replace the belt altogether?

TIA

[UK] Chime not responding when doorbell pressed

I have the WiFi doorbell (connected via Ethernet) to my Reolink Hub (non pro). I also have a chime connected via Hub but it never plays audio when someone presses the doorbell.

If I look in the app it shows chime is linked and online and when running a test via the app it works.

Anyone have any ideas on how to resolve?

Thanks

Moving step closer to full fibre

Finally OpenReach replaced our pole in February as was rotten which was probably reason why ZZoom wouldn’t install fibre to our pole, so we lost out being able to get 2000/2000.

FNS finally laid the fibre cable (last two days) to our pole and other poles fed from ours. Looks like another FNS out joining the cables to the duct (not sure how it all done).

So hoping we can migrate from G.Fast to Full Fibre within the next couple of months (OpenReach originally said it should be available by end of July).

Fingers crossed all goes well and no further hiccups along the way

Any G.Fast connection users?

I’m currently a Zen G.Fast connection user, still awaiting for OR to get of their backsides and upgrade our street to Full Fibre.

I’ve read on ISPReview that BT are disconnecting users from standard G.Fast and moving them over SogFast so they don’t loose their speeds while waiting for Full Fibre.

I’ve also seen that Zen don’t/won’t support SogFast thus meaning users will have to drop to lower speeds if OR remove standard G.Fast connections and Full Fibre is not available for their premises.

Does anyone use their G.Fast connections and heard anything about this?

Returns why no box

So finally after a year I get my returns label from Zen for my Fritz Repeater.
Packed it all up then noticed it said do not include the box, so took it out box and resealed it up with tape.
So now a repeater that was in adequate packaging (same as I got it) is now going back in a grey unpadded bag without anything around it.
Surely you would expect them to take the box back if end user had it, rather than the potential of it getting damaged in the postal system.

Got an m.2 ssd tray for my cloud gateway fiber and the packaging could have fitted about 30 of them in the box. Packaging probably weighed more than the box.
