Dog parents of BLR (late 20s): How are you managing RWAs, hybrid work, travel & costs?

Hey! My spouse and I (late 20s, working Engineers in IT) are considering becoming dog parents in this city. Balancing hybrid work, Bangalore traffic, RWA rules, and travel has been a learning curve.

Would love to hear how other couples are managing the practical side:

Work & Help: How do you manage walks/feeding around hybrid schedules and long commutes? What do you pay for reliable walkers or daycare?

Finances: What's your real monthly spend (food, vet, grooming, walker)? Is pet insurance in India worth it, or do you just maintain a vet emergency fund?

Vets & Monsoon: Go-to 24/7 emergency vets you actually trust? How do you survive wet-weather potty runs and ticks during monsoons?

Travel & Transport: Favorite boarding sitters when you both travel? Best pet-friendly staycations within a 4–6 hr drive? How do you travel without a personal car?

Chore Split: How do you and your partner split early morning walks and chores during high-stress work weeks without burning out?

Human Kids in Future? Do you guys plan on having kids in the future or are you undecided? If so did you guys consider how
you would manage in case you do end up having children? The finances, the efforts, the Vet and Paediatrician Visits?

All in all just looking for some pointers! Please talk me out of it if you think it’s a bad idea 😩

More breakouts with long nails?

I have tried to grow my nails out a couple of times and both times, I ended up having more breakouts on my face than usual. I am right handed but also a Violinist so I tend to keep my left hand’s nails short and tend to grow only my right’s. And I also eat with my right hand frequently. Has anyone else experienced this? And if so, what can I do to help myself?

(I don’t think I touch my face too much at all expect for when I am washing it or applying makeup)

They are finally growing!

Sooo, for the longest time my nails used to just break off and look super duper transparent and weird at this length. I recently discovered a Nail Hardener and applied it on my nails and it has made such a difference! The past couple of days I am trying to apply Jojoba Oil to them twice a day too.

While I am happy that they are growing at all I am still not super happy with the shape. Can someone help me figure out what shape would look nice on my fingers? And if any shaping is possible at this length at all?

Products used:

  1. Nykaa Rock Hard Nail Hardener
  2. Nat Habit Cold-pressed 100% Jojoba Oil

Nailcare tips needed!

Attached are my current nails. Please rate them!

I have struggled with brittle bendy nails for as long as I can remember. They would grow till the length shown in the pictures and after that they’ll start to give up, break, appear transparent etc.

I am planning to apply Jojoba Oil to my nails every night to help them grow and stay healthy. But other advice on maintenance is also super duper welcome. Please also tell me how to shape them so that they suit my overall nail beds shape and hands too and look more elegant and less rounded I guess.

Also, do any of you notice that you fall sick more often when you have longer nails? Than opposed to fully trimmed down ones? In the rare occasions that I have had longer nails (or gel extensions) I have noticed that I tend to catch the flu more often etc. Could be purely coincidental but curious to see if its a thing.
