Week 5 of wearing a Velcro boot on my broken foot. Luckily I have Torrid pedal pushers. I’ve been living in them. 😆 The shirt is Unique Vintage. I made a cockade out of ribbon to keep the Independence Day theme going. Two more weeks of boot-scootin’ around.

Twice, I sewed the Zip-Front dress from the "Gertie Sews Vintage Casual" book. I had an excellent sewist help me up-size the pattern and we sewed the first one (gray) together, and then another sewist help me further dial-in the pattern for the second one (green). The gray one needed the waist raised and reduced. We also made the collar a little smaller than in the original pattern. It's a fun dress. I think it looks more put-together with a belt. Gertie has since made her patterns in larger sizes than were offered in the book. I like fashions from the mid-50s to the mid-60s. If you know of any plus-sized patterns in that style feel free to make a recommendation.

I made two of the “Ruby” tops by “Made by Rae” patterns. Thought I’d share as its a great top for summer. The white/blue/pink was my test muslin, but it came out great so I wear it often. The one with women’s heads I made for my trip to Japan as it used Japanese fabric I’d had in my stash since 2012.
