KCL, Bristol or Exeter?

Hi, I have 5/5 conditional offers for Neuroscience from King’s College London, Bristol, Exeter, Manchester and Sussex. I study Psychology, Biology, and Chemistry, predicted AAA. Haven’t replied to my offers yet, but i’m going to reject Manchester and Sussex for sure. I qualify for contextual offers, so my KCL offer is AAC (AA in Bio + Chem), UOB is ABB (any), and OUE is ABC (any). As i’ve been revising for chemistry, i’m realising i really don’t think i’ll get an A. I find the content so unbelievably difficult, and with having autism + adhd, trying to cram feels impossible. Kings is my dream uni and has been for ages, so I really want to firm it - but im scared I wont get the A. I tried switching courses at KCL to Neuroscience with Psychology, which needs AAC in any of my subjects, but I don’t meet the GCSE maths requirement.

Just wondering if anyones in the same boat and if I should try my luck at Kings? I really don’t want to lose my offer as i’ve tried so hard for it, but its looking to be increasingly more impossible. Should I cut my losses and firm Bristol, insure Exeter??? Would love to hear others input 🥲

Hi! Im in y13 and i’m currently predicted A*A*A (psych, bio, chem), and I scored 2110 B1 in my UCAT. I have 3 weeks work experience where I volunteered at 5 hospitals, I created and lead a Medicine society extra-curricular at my College, I’m head of A-Levels overall in my College, I was awarded mathematician of the year in my College in 2025 and I place ice hockey and football. Im eligible for contextual/widening participation for Uni.

I’ve applied for Neuroscience at some Russel Groups, and have received 5/5 offers for 2026 entry. However, i’m planning on taking a gap year and applying for Medicine in September of this year, for 2027 entry, as i’d like the chance to travel the world and do some volunteering before settling down and doing Medicine.

During secondary school, I suffered from clinical depression and had extremely low attendance as a result. I had severe mental health issues and so I was placed in hospital/couldn’t get out of bed for days on end during my GCSE’s. As expected, I got low GCSE results. I got a 5-5 in Science (combined), 4 in Maths, and 6 in English. Other than that, I got 6, 4, 3, U 😬. I know these are generally deemed as super low results in terms of Medicine applicants.

For the Unis i’ve looked at, they require AAA-A*AA at A-level, and a 4 in Maths and a 6 in English GCSE, so i technically meet the entry requirements - but i’m scared that i’ll still be rejected because my GCSE’s are generally low. I wasn’t worried about it initially, as in my eyes I meet entry requirements, but i’ve seen alot of people be shamed for GCSE grades like these and told they have no chance of getting into Medicine.

My question is - do I actually have no chance? I’ve done everything in my power to better myself during college in light of what happened in my GCSE’s, but im worried they’ll drag me down even though they meet requirements. Sorry for the long post - I’d appreciate your guys brutal honesty! Thanks :)
