Am i crazy or did this chapter used to have a longer explanation of Hyakushiki Kannon in the magazine version?

Finding the magazine chapters from that long ago is really hard, i don't know if anyone has them. But i seem to remember that there was an explanation of how Kannon actually works.

It wasn't a huge statue made of nen. It works with very small nen waves that are almost invisible (using In?). They accumulate in a spot of his choosing, and when he gives the signal, it shoots like a blast, that can come from any direction. It's like a kamehameha that comes from nowhere.

Don't you think that this image supports that explanation?

Mage the Ascension style anime?

The one series that comes the closest to MTA, as far as i know, is To Aru Majutsu no Index (A Certain Magical Index), since the main factions are essentially the Technocracy (Academy City) and the Traditions (The Catholic and Protestant Church).

What other series do you think that have a nice MTA vibe, and could serve as inspiration for characters and stories?
