Ninja Flip FT405CO "flip" on display

I have a used Ninja Flip FT405CO. Got it from a friend. Seems to work fine, but according to the manual it's supposed to display "flip" at some point, to let me know it's ok to flip it up.

When I cook with it, it goes "end hot" then "hot", and then seems to turn off after a while. Not sure if this is defective, or if the "flip" wording only shows up for a short amount of time and then turns off. Can anyone confirm ?

Can they make RAB any more abrupt?

Can they make RAB (Rear Automatic Braking) any more abrupt on the Equinox? I want it to feel like I hit a brick wall rather than just running someone over.

New Month, New Watch?

Seems kind of quiet around here? It's July now. What new watch is coming this month?

I'm still hoping for an Active 3 square Ultra.

Home Brewer insisting their beer is Pliney the Elder?

Have you ever had a home Brewer insist that their beer is a particular commercial beer?

I was out talking to someone who is a home brewer and they kept telling me that their beer IS Pliny the Elder. I argued with them a bunch. Finally they said "well... It's the same recipe so it is Pliny”. I said that even though it's the same recipe, doesn't it make it the same. I didn't taste their beer so I have no idea how good or close it is.

I've had beer that people claim is the same recipe as another beer before, and for whatever reason, it doesn't taste exactly the same as the original. I don't know why. Way that it was brewed? Skill of the brewer? Equipment?

This person didn't seem to believe me. Just wondering if this is a common thing? Seemed bizarre to me that they would claim it is a real commercial beer when they brewed it at home.

EKR seat cover install

So I finally bought EKR seat covers. These are the Leatherette black seat covers from Amazon for $249. They are on the EKR website also, but they were out of stock when I wanted them. Make sure if you are looking at them on Amazon that you pick the EV only version.

The fronts were pretty easy. Just tilted the seats forward and back a few times for the bottoms and the tops. Also sliding the seats back and forth and getting underneath. They supplied a tool for tucking the covers but I was pretty much able to use my fingers. The headrests on the front don't need to come out because the seat cover has velcro around the headrest.

The back rests in the ear seat were pretty easy too. For these you do have to take off the headrests. There is a pinhole on one side that you need to put a pick(or smaller screwdriver) into while you press the headrest button and then they come out. Otherwise they just slide over, tucks a few pieces and you are done.

Hardest part was the bottom for the rear seat. The is a strap that goes between the rear seatbelt holes. I ended up taking apart my trunk. Fishing the straps the the and then getting them connected. Scraped my arm quite a bit and my fingers are sore but got it. The EKR back bottoms don't go underneath the seat. They have foam pieces that wedge into the seat cracks and a few small bungie straps. The seat bottoms don't looked as good as the rest but it's ok.

There wasnt much in the way of video directions for these. EKR was pretty much unhelpful also. I wrote a few emails and called them. I sent them some pictures. Then they wanted me to send more pictures. Maybe if I was more patient but I just plowed through and did it. They also wanted order numbers and I guess they have a different support team for Amazon orders which is weird.

I'd probably by them again but just realize there is almost no support. Hopefully someone more patient then me will create a video like EKR should have done.

Here are some pics of the bottom seat cover and the finished product.

Document every shot in the Gimme app/site?

Do you have to document every shot with the date and correct mg value in the Gimme website/app in order for future prescriptions to be filled correctly?

I prefer to document my injections in Glapp and also use different dosages that are used by named brand meds.

As an example, if I didn't document my titration in the shot section of the site from 10mg to 12.4mg to 15mg, for three months. It shows my next shot as 9mg on the website, because I haven't added the individual shots on the site.

Just wondering if prescriptions are based on the titration schedule from the online physician, or does documenting shots on the website change the prescription?

Vehicle wide software update - time to complete?

Talked to Chevrolet EV Concierge team last week and they said I needed to bring my Equinox EV LT into the dealer for a brake system software update. N252528241. They said I should also do a vehicle wide software update check.

I made an appt. They said I should leave it all day and pick it up tomorrow morning.

I was kind of hoping they would have it done earlier, but no luck. Does it really take that long? I was figuring it was really going to take a couple of hours.

The dealer has some app to keep track of service (xtime?). It doesn't show any status other than the car being checked in. I'm hoping they don't make me wait for the car over the weekend.

I'll check with them in the AM, but just wondering if my expectation is unrealistic. Maybe it does take longer?

What parts of Google account sync with the car?

Wondering what Google accounts actually sync data with the car?

I'm on an android phone.

I have a workspace account as my main Google account but that doesn't work with Chevrolet Infotainment. So I had to set up a generic Gmail.com account.

Originally I wasn't using the Gmail account for anything except the car. Found out that Google Maps sync car info and maps between phone/web/car, so I'm using maps on all my devices with my gmail.com address. Are there any other Google Apps/services that I should be using this gmail.com account so that things are synced with the car?

I tried switching the Messages app on my phone to my gmail.com address but that didn't seem to matter. There isn't a car based Messages. All the test messages seem to come across via Bluetooth. So that doesn't seem to matter?

Is there anything else I should consider? Contacts/Phone calls seem to sync via Bluetooth. Not sure if using those with a Gmail account adds anything?

Google Maps Speed Limit on map screen

I could swear that Google maps had the speed limit on the maps screen when I first got my 2026 LT. It's gone now. Maybe it never had it? I can't remember. I was driving my other car for a few weeks.

I do have it on the driver console, just not on google maps when I'm navigating.

Read previous text messages?

One thing I came across today was ignoring a text message. Then when I was ready I wanted to have it read or see it.

How do I do this on the equinox EV infotainment? It's available on Android Auto on my other car.

If I go into the phone app, it only has previous calls

I guess I could ask Google Assistant to read back my text messages? Is that the only way?

Updated my Balance firmware, still love my Active 2 Square

Let me start by saying: I've never been a square watch person. I had Galaxy, Huawei and Garwin watches in the past. Started with a Balance a while back but wanted something a little smaller and square without a crown. So I got the Active 2 Square.

I've been using it for the past year. I really love this watch. The size, thickness and how light it is. Decent battery life.

Recently there was a new firmware update for the Balance, so I updated it and wore it for a few days. I missed my Active 2 Square. The balance just feels a little too thick to me.

I was looking to see what my next watch could be, if I went with Amazfit. I wanted something a little thinner than my Balance but with better battery life and memory than the Active 2 Square. Crown is ok, but needs to have the ability to lock per workout like the Balance 3. Otherwise buttons.

Seems like the watch that is closest is the Active 3 Premium. Although I think it is still thicker than the original Balance.

Any others?

I guess I'll have to stick with the Active 2 Square. Doesn't seem like there is anything else that is thinner like the original Balance or even thinner?

Kalshi/Polymarket for the next Amazfit watch?

Wow. Just Wow. So many watches in so little time? I'm assuming Balance 2 inventory will be cleared out soon.

So what's next in hardware? I'm assuming something new will be announced in July?

Anyone use the app OurGroceries?

My family has been using this for a while. It's great for sharing lists. There is a wearos and apple watch version. Nothing for amazfit. I asked them. They said no interest from amazfit users.

If anyone else uses it and has interest, email them. support@ourgroceries.com

I asked them if they had an API but it isn't open.

If you have another app suggestion for managing grocery lists and selecting items from an Amazfit watch face, let know.

Seat cover install

Anyone do any seat cover installs on an LT with cloth seats? Haven't owned a car with cloth seats in a long time and worried about them getting pretty dirty. Active lifestyle, etc.

Last time we had cloth seats I got Coverking covers and wasn't that impressed. The moved around over time and were a pain to install.

Anyway. Contemplating seat covers For front and back. Do I really need them?

Any good brands these days?

EKR?

Coverking?

Something else?

Helio strap <> Watch trade

Anyone need a Helio Strap and want to trade for a watch that you are no longer using? I tried the strap for a few days and it isn't for me. I have the strap, wrist band and arm band and charger. No manual or box.

Willing to trade with extra cash for Balance 2/XT or Active 3/max DM me.

Only putting this out there because I know they are in short supply.

Any way to have to have Amazfit add Biocharge to older watchfaces?

I really like Ultimate Leap watch face but Biocharge isn't a field that can be added. Any way to request it from Zepp/Amazfit?

Vital watchface has it all, but the font is hard for me to read.

Anything like either one of these with Biocharge?

This is on an Active 2 Square.

Competitor for Garmin 70/170?

Watched some reviews on the new Garmin 70/170. Seems pretty cool, especially for the price point. Priced similarly to the Active series from Amazfit. It's got me thinking about my next watch. A lot of features for the price. 5 buttons. Seems like Garmin is trying to stay competitive with lower end models.

I like the ability to create a quick workout from the watch. That seems cool. Another thing is the ability to view sports scores and stock pricing through the watch. Amazfit has apps for this but honestly, they suck.

Anyway. Just throwing it out there because the Garmin are new.

Road trip from Frisco ending in Colorado for two weeks

Helping a kid move to Frisco, Tx. 58 year old couple. Driving. We are from the mountains in CO. Should be finished helping him by 5/25/26. Thinking about doing a TX road trip. Maybe stopping in Austin and San antonio, then going to South Padre island (or some other beach area) for a few days. Not much beach in CO. On the way back stopping in Fredericksburg, Lubbock and Amarillo.

Trying to figure out how long we should stay at each place.. We haven't planned anything other than wanting to go to a beach since we're land locked. Also we won't be doing any long hikes or walks as my wife is semi disabled and can only walk few blocks. We like wine, beer and architecture, history and nature. Zoos. Etc.

I'm thinking:

5/25 mon-5/27 wed Austin

5/27 wed- 5/29 Fri San Antonio

5/29 Fri- Mon 6/1 south Padre

6/1 mon - 6/3 wed Fredericksburg

6/3 wed - 6/5 fri Lubbock

6/5 fri - 6/7 Sun Amarillo

6/7 drive home to CO

That's a couple of days in each place except a few more at the beach. Any suggestions on more or less days in each place? Skip a place? Different beach area? We are retired so can spend +- a few days also. Just driving a car, no RV.

Anyone try this unit yet? Costco has it for $129. It seems to be new.

Interested as it seems to have a wider surface area, and dual infrared. No preheat.

I ordered it to try. Will update.

Bought a Panasonic Arc5 from Amazon back in January 2026. Model ES-ALV6HA.

Came from a Gillette fusion blade. Also tried the Braun 9 sport for a few weeks. I had electric razors about 25 years ago, but eventually gave up because none of them were really close enough. Back then I tried Norelco, braun, remington and panasonic. Based on some reviews it seemed like they have gotten better.

Initially seemed to shave pretty close. Had to pull my skin a little bit and shave along my jaw to get it closer around that area. I was pretty satisfied. Cleaned according to inatructions after every shave. Also, used shaver oil once a week. I usually shave every day. Once in a while I miss a day.

The last few weeks I've noticed that it has been leaving some hairs unshaved on my neck and around my face. I tried some Lectric Shave since last week. Doesn't seem to have helped. Of course I'm outside of any return window, but thinking of going back to my razor and cream.

Is there something I can try to make it work better?

Are the blades needing to be replaced already? Seems kind of early.

When you shave with these electric razors do you go light or press hard? I've tried a few different pressures. When there is a stubborn hair, I have to press harder. Just wondering what pressure is normal for them.

Almost ready to give up.
