Rainy Sunday
No better way to spend a rainy Sunday afternoon than with a good book and my best cuddle buddy (my arm has been asleep for ages)

Just excited about my (42F, 5'7, SW:227lbs, CW: 207lbs, GW: 145lbs) progress over the last 2.5 months and wanted to share 😀. The pic is just the last month - nearly 9 lbs down just in the last month!
This is definitely not the first time I've tried to lose weight - I managed to lose 70lbs in 2022, but it was not super healthy - signed up for a very restrictive \~1000 cal per day program that relied more on "nutritional supplements" than actual food. Not surprisingly, I've gained back 40lbs since then (sigh).
This time around I've just been doing CICO with a 500 cal deficit, but eating actual healthy foods and trying to hit my macros. It's harder than just drinking a shake, but I'm learning more about how to actually eat healthier so I can actually stand a chance at maintaining once I get to my goal. Meal prep has been a definite life saver and helps keep me on track when I'm feeling too lazy or unmotivated to cook (DD is the actual devil).
I've also been walking at least 10k steps every day, but mostly have just been focused on the diet part. I'm thinking of incorporating strength training once I get around 190lbs, but I'm a little afraid of increasing my caloric intake to build muscle... guess I'll cross that bridge when it comes.
As you can see from the picture I haven't been perfect every day, but taking it a week at a time instead of a day at a time really helps keep me from going completely off the rails when I have an off meal or off day. I can see in the data where the weekends hit but the trend is in the right direction and that's what matters (this is why I weigh every day so one bad day doesn't define the whole week). Being able to see the fluctuations and the overall trend helps to keep me from feeling overwhelmed and disheartened by the blips, lol.
Anyway, just wanted to share. It feels much more sustainable this time around, but I guess we'll see once I get to my goal and the real test begins 😄

Description from the menu:

Pulled Pork Hash

Pulled pork, red onion, jalapenos, roasted corn, bell peppers, smoked gouda and chipotle honey cream, with two eggs any style

Would you say \~720-750 is an accurate estimate for this pulled pork hash dish from Father's Day brunch? It wasn't a huge serving - maybe \~3 ounces pork and \~1/2 cup potatoes. Didn't really see the advertised bell peppers or jalapeños, but those are negligible calorie wise anyway.

Thanks in advance for the help!

My Mom brought her new mini bernedoodle puppy, Baylee, over to play with my 5yo girl, Murphy, last weekend. Murphy was not impressed, lol
Love this little snuggle butt 😍
Not an every day occurrence, of course, but some days I just have to! I meant to make a spinach and cheese egg white omelette, but my omelette's always turn into fancy scrambled eggs... so scrambled egg whites (2) with spinach and cheese on (low cal) toast and guacamole on (low cal) toast with everything bagel seasoning (please excuse the paper plates).
431 cal, 26g fat, 25g carb, 23g protein.
This isn't too bad once in a while, right? I'll get more protein, fruits, and veggies in my other meals today
