What does a furcus look like?

Furcus, vena terrae, the blood serpent, whatever you call it.

It is a place of magical power and weird stuff happens around it, cool.

But what does it look like? The description in blood sigil is a bit vague. Is there a literal stream of blood under the gravel?

Can't express anger at all.

It's not like I don't feel angry, I do feel anger and often ruminate about the disrespects I get or the things I didn't say but I should've, but I just don't do anything about it. If anything this contributes to building up anger, but there is no way for me to let it out, it feels like my body just... Isn't made to process it and transform it in behaviour. Like it's missing a cog: great, we are full on fuel, but the machine just can't use it and start. Feels like I physically can't handle it. Like placing a rock that weights a ton on my shoulders, of course I'm going to get crushed, I'm just not built to keep it on me. Again, I can't stress enough that it is first and foremost a really physical feeling, like as if my body is physically incapable of expressing anger through action.

In my 30+ years I can count very few times in my whole life where I got angry and it happened only because the situation was very extreme, it takes a lot to really tick me off. And when it happened I just totally lost it and went on a rampage of verbal abuse where I just couldn't stop and went on for hours. It's extremely rare for it to be physical anger, as I already said.

I usually just default to being diplomatic and don't make a fuss about things. Granted, this makes me an excellent mediator and I rarely get in trouble for impulsivity, I'm a very controlled person. Although when people get angry, even if that's around me, I get very uncomfortable. If they get angry/aggressive at me I just kinda shut down, I can't talk back or react appropriately even if I'm in the right.

I'm somewhat able to use my anger down the line as in "served cold" after months of scheming and pretending everything is fine and that I'm totally chill and friendmy. In the end I stab in the back the people that have wronged me (and then shut off the relationship/run right after) when the occasion is right and when I can maximize the damage, but I don't need that because it's just not worth it for my mental health. It would be WAY easier to just say "hey man, how about you shut up and fuck off?", get it off my chest, let go of all the ruminations and serenely go on with my life. Hell, in some cases it may even fix the relationship with the other person because they would realize that they've done something wrong and they may apologize. But I just can't express it "hot".

I've been in therapy for 3 and half years and to be fair we did a great job with my mental health and improved lots of areas. But this anger stuff still is an issue

EDIT: can't even let it out on inanimate things unless I'm extremely angry

Any V6 actual play videos?

I want to see some players actually playing the v6 playtest scenario, but can't find anything on YouTube, people are mostly discussing the system. Even some pre recorded and edited stuff will do, doesn't need to be an actual play, but I actually want to see the game running

I don't think that fusing protean into animalism is a terrible idea

I know this is pretty unpopular, but I don't think it's a bad idea.

They are, thematically speaking, somewhat similar disciplines. Protean basically morphs you into animals, or gives you animals elements' (eyes, claws, shape shifting, burrow etc). Makes sense to include this in animalism, especially for Nosferatus, as they are already grotesque and disfigured. Makes sense for them to have protean. It always bothered me that they live in dark places but don't have the right means to traverse or live in them properly (night vision, claws for shaping their tunnels, morphing into rats so they can move around through sewers' grates etc). They are so thematically similar that gangrel and tzmisce both have these disciplines, which are kinda needed to define their archetype of "animalistic" kindreds. Having just animalism with protean elements opens up new slots for these clans so they can be more unique and defined in their respective set of powers.

Also a note about necromancy. I think that necromancy should be tied to magic, not to oblivion, so it's ok to let tremere have it. I don't think that fusing necromancy and obtenebration was a good idea in V5 because they are definitely more distinct and achieve different things if compared to animalism and protean, even if they justified that as getting your power from the "underworld". For the very same reason, it's fair for vicissitude to come back: if now protean leans more into the animalism side, it also gives more character and uniqueness to vicissitude, as that would become THE morphing discipline and could have more distinct and unique powers.

I get that the more unique disciplines (protean, obtenebration, vicissitude etc) are particularly beloved and so it's always messy when dealing with them, but overall I think v6 is making the right choice.

My flatmate is an alcoholic and has created a terror regime in the house with her raging mood swings

We currently are 4 (3 males, 1 female) people sharing a flat, one of us is not very present, so we may as well be considered 3 people in the house.

This flatmate has joined the house in september. She was always problematic (very prone to anger, has a lot of disregard for co-living rules, she is dirty and won't clean up her dishes or throw the trash away, she has a bully-like attitude which she boasts about, she has colonized some of the common areas of the house basically taking those for herself without asking, and other stuff, I could go on for hours) but things went downhill fast when she broke up with her boyfriend some months ago. We knew she was a drinker but it didn't hit us until she started being drunk basically every day: then we realized she is a full blown alcoholic. She stays up until 6 or 7 am drinking and smoking alone in the common areas of the house (the kitchen), and she still wakes up drunk even after sleeping.

While she is functional enough to show up to work and not being fired (she coordinates her drinking with her shifts so she's not too smashed when going to work), the mood in the house is just terrible. We can't ask her to clean up after herself (or any basic respect really) because she starts raging at us screaming at the top of her lungs, she didn't start hitting us yet but she came close to it, I'm definitely calling the police next time but then what? She still is in our house and it may get things worse. Then, after she has raged because of a polite request, she gets petty and starts doing even worse to get on our nerves on purpose, it's like she is actively looking for fights, like she gets some perverted sexual pleasure out of it, and it's particularly bad when she is drunk, which is most of the time. She is totally oblivious about having a drinking problem, she said that she doesn't have any issues with that.

Things got even worse lately because she decided to dogsit every now and then and brought a dog in the house without asking if we were okay with that. The dog is problematic and we are forced to take care of it when she is out working or passed out because we aren't shitty human beings, but the dog pisses and shits around (mostly in her room) and she won't clean up. Last time the dog was here for 2 weeks and the dog's shit was left on the common balcony for a month. We didn't want to clean up for her assuming she would eventually realize she has to do something about it but of course that didn't happen, so we had to do it for her.

Now the dog is back and we are so fucking done with everything. We told her we didn't want animals in the house and she literally said "I'm not asking, the dog is coming for another week", which lead me to write this post as we don't know what to do to survive in this house. Admittedly we are\were too meek, too understanding, and we are enabling her with our attitude, but we tried talking in an empathic way and nothing changed, I doubt that using an aggressive method will help because, as I said, she literally enjoys fighting with people. We don't know what the fuck we are supposed to do, feels like we are checkmated.

The landlord doesn't give a fuck as long as he gets his rent, which she is able to provide. We are set on leaving the house and looking for another place, but our renting contract expires in two months and the situation is insufferable.

I'll take any advice or just a kind word of support. Thanks

Discovered my favourite pizza through a dream

I dreamt that I was waiting in line at a pizza food truck, in the evening, wanting to order a pizza with: tomato and mozzarella as a base, topped with french fries, sliced hotdog's sausages, onions and arugula. Well, I wasn't really waiting as there was no one other client, but I kept waiting for the employee to address me and ask for my order... Although this never happens. So I keep waiting and waiting until, around 6am, the food truck just closes. I call the food truck's number and I tell them that I was waiting for them to take my order but they never did. Can't remember what the employee said, maybe something dismissing like "why didn't you speak up?".

The dream ends, I wake up wanting that pizza. It's a pretty loaded thing so I'm bound to get some looks, but I don't care, so I go to a pizzeria and order it. It was magnificent, best pizza I've ever had.

I reverted to a normal day/night cycle for 10 days and I don't want to go back to nights

I was involved in a traffic accident. Nothing major as I could move around normally but I had a mandatory "sick leave" of 10 days. My sleep cycle naturally went back to nights. This is the first time I've slept nights since I started this 42h per week only nights job, which was back in April, and good lord In those 10 days I slept well for the first time in months. I was also able to hang out with friends, visit family, do stuff with my girlfriend... You don't realize how much these kind of jobs destroy you physically and socially until you go back to days for a moment. I adapted back to nights now that I resumed my job but I don't think I want to do this anymore, it's just not worth it. I'm wasting my health and good things in life because of a shitty job with a shitty pay. My next one is for sure going to be some early morning stuff, I'm not doing this anymore

Is there a way to go back to pre next-gen graphics update on PC?

I wanted to play tw3 again and my PC is pretty old. I remember playing it with no issues many years ago (I got a gtx960m and my laptop is still kicking although slowly breaking down, it is a true warrior!), but apparently now it's unplayable because of the graphic update patch.

I want to play the dlc when it comes out but in this state I can't. I tried to contact CD project red on their site to ask them if they can insert some kind of option so I may select the pre graphic patch game, but I couldn't find any email or form.

I'll gladly take a temporary solution (maybe downgrading my games version from steam? Won't I also lose all the stuff fixed in the subsequent patches though?), but if anyone could help me contact CD project red in some way it would be great. Looking forward to enjoy the new dlc!

I beat the game for the first time and unlocked elite and ultimate, how do I start over an ultimate run with a new character?

So I just finished the game! Now I want to start with a lvl 1 character in ultimate, but I can't figure out how to do it. Seems like I can start ultimate with my old character and everything carries over, but I can't figure out how to start with a brand new character in ultimate

What qualifies as a "stake" in your games?

V5 flair because that's what I play but may as well be General Discussion.

I always ruled that everything solid enough to stay lodged in the heart qualifies as a stake (for example an iron rod), but I see many people strictly going for wooden stakes.

What's your take?

Is there any way to go through crafting or inventory with filters?

Hello, new player here 20 hours in, playing on veteran . The game is great but I'm having some trouble with menu\inventory management. I wanted to forge some components\augment for my weapons but the list in the forger npc is huge and ordered by name, this is giving me an headache because I need to go through every single item hoping to find what I need. Is there some way to use filters?

Also I'll take any recommendation about inventory management or advice on everything regarding menus... I'm constantly filled with stuff and I always go back to sell it, which is fine, but I've got loads of money and I kinda don't know what to do with it

I have some pet peeves about the Italian characters in the franchise

Just a light hearted post from an italian, I'm not offended at all.

By now we know that WW has always been notoriously bad in representing cultures outside the US, but dear lord, did you really give a pasta recipe name to one of the families just because it's Italian? Puttanesca, really now? How am I supposed to take it seriously while playing, it feels so cringe lol

Now, "Giovanni".

"Giovanni" is a name, not a surname. There are some cases where a name is used as a surname in Italy, but it's not extra common and sometimes it gets confusing for a native reader too. Something like "di Giovanni" or "de Giovanni" would've been much better, it's the equivalent of the " o' " in Irish, so that would be "son of Giovanni". Not the greatest choice for a supposed important family though. Still, it is miles ahead of the total botch that is Puttanesca.

Augustus? Why the -us? If this was ancient Rome maybe, but that's not the case, therefore it should be "Augusto". Same thing for "Lucretia Giovanni", it should be "Lucrezia" for the very same reason, and basically the same mistake gets repeated for most of the names I'm reading on the wiki.

Surprisingly, "Rossellini" is fine. Feels a little weird reading "piccoli fratellini" but I get what they were going for, they pass.

"Giangaleazzo Visconti" is fine. Some could argue (and rightly so) that the correct writing should be "Gian Galeazzo" but given WW's standards this is a minor mistake I'll gladly take it. Also that's a proper noble surname, not some random stuff like "Giovanni" or "Veronese".

Speaking of, "Gratiano de Veronese" is all over the place. Again, Gratiano would be ok maybe if he was embraced in ancient Rome, otherwise it's "Graziano".

"de Veronese" is a mess. Either you just write it as "Veronese" or "di\de Verona". It means "from Verona" (city), but "de Veronese" doesn't make sense as it feels like saying "from from Verona".

Pretty sure there are many others but as an Hecata enjoyer that's where I found most of the mistakes. Puttanesca being the worst offender, that shit needs to go

I think that working full time night shifts is killing my body and relationships

Help/rant

This is not an hard job. I work nights in an hotel reception, the hardest I have to do is stay awake until I go home as basically nothing happens during the night 90% of the time. I work 42h per week from 11pm to 6am, I started a month ago.

Let us put aside for a moment the fact that I am severely underpaid for a night shift worker and that my working contract is not legal, but that's how thing work in my area/country, so fine, whatever, not the point, although it's very annoying, I may contact a lawyer when the contract ends and I probably will get every payment, although this means getting banned from working ever again (in this field at least) because employers know and talk to each other, so you get secretly blacklisted as "yeah he's the guy with the nerve of legally asking what we owe him and ruins our tax evasion, don't ever hire him"

I'm having serious trouble sleeping. I arrive at home around 6.30am and, if I'm lucky, I sleep at 7.00 am on a good day. Lately I've been sleeping at 11.00 am or 12.00 pm, can't sleep before that, I just keep rolling in the sheets. The quantity of slept hours are fine, but the quality is horrendous. No matter how much I sleep, I always get up extra tired, I continuously wake up while I sleep, I feel like I'm never really rested and I genuinely feel that this way of life is making me age faster than I should. Bad sleep quality is probably the issue and I don't know how to fix it.

At first I was happy for this job. I'm a pretty anxious person so if I don't have to talk with people and get paid for it it's a dream. I bring my Nintendo at work and play until I leave, teenager me would be so damn happy thinking I've cheated the system: I kinda was a night owl for most of my life (then 30s hit), so I believe that working nights, compared to a morning person, I got it good. I don't feel lonely or whatever, it's just my fucking sleep that it's starting to give me some problems. I have a gf and our schedules are so different so some trouble is brewing because we basically have very little time to stay together, and I'm sluggish all the day. On my free day I sleep at around midnight trying to recover but then I can't rest anyway because my schedule is fucked.

If it wasn't for the sleeping part I'd actually like this job. Changing job is a no go for now as all the jobs in my area are tourist related stuff, so I either work as a waiter or in an hotel, and working in an hotel right now is the better alternative. I need to put some experience in my resume so maybe next year I can transition to a day reception or something like that, because no one will hire me in hotels with my current experience.

So yeah, pros and cons, but this stuff is slowly getting to me
