Custom Kids Cakes
Hey everyone! 👋
I’m looking for recommendations for a themed birthday cake.
Details:
📍 Location: Parnell/CBD area
🎂 Theme: Single-tier LEGO Ninjago cake
💰 Budget: $150 to $300
I used to order from Sweet Bites, but they’re a bit out of the way now, and my last couple of cakes weren’t quite as good flavour-wise.
If you’ve had a great experience with a local baker or bakery, I’d love to hear your recommendations! I’d especially love to support a small business if possible. 😊
Quest 45g Protein Milkshake
Recently tried Quest for the first time with this 45g protein milkshake. It was honestly delicious. I’ve only tried the strawberry flavor, what’s your favorite?
I love AMC's Interview With The Vampire / Now on Netflix
Guys, I know this one has been around for a long time. I am behind on the new season but wowza, I have been living under a rock on this one.
I cannot help but absolutely LOVE Lestat. I love when the acting is so top tier that you end up loving the supposed villian of the show!
I have little to no sympathy for Louie. Claudia is amazing.
Thoughts?
Pizza Night - AKL CBD/Parnell
5 year old only likes Pepperoni Pizza Hut Thin Crust. I want to take him to a great pizza shop to have a fun Pizza night but he's not a fan of authentic pizza with the thicker crust.
Looking for suggestions please! It doesn't need to be authentic, just tasty and fun.
Where to donate food, cans, etc?
Does anyone know of a convenient drop-off location in Auckland CBD where I can donate canned goods, pasta, and other food items?
I have quite a few unexpired food supplies that I’d love to donate before I leave for an extended period of travel. Ideally, I’m looking for somewhere easy to access with a simple drop-off process.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! 🙏
Woolworths food community- 🍇bunch?
Is anyone on here a long-time or newer member of Woolworths’ food community, bunch?
I’d genuinely love to hear people’s experiences and whether you think it’s actually worth the time long term. Getting free products to try is obviously a nice perk, and I do enjoy writing thoughtful reviews, so it feels like it could become a fun little hobby for me.
I was invited to join around mid-April this year and have redeemed 3 products so far. I already write a lot of Google reviews and enjoy sharing honest feedback, so reviewing products feels pretty natural to me. I’m even tempted to start contributing to the articles and recipes section too.
That said, the community is huge, and as a newer bunchee it can feel a little intimidating seeing members who’ve been there for years and are already at such high levels. When I do reviews, I really put effort into them with detailed feedback, multiple photos, and even videos ready to go (even though videos can’t currently be uploaded). I’ve noticed some reviews are kept super short, sometimes without enough detail to really help someone make an informed decision on a product.
Part of me wonders if investing extra time into thorough reviews and contributing more to the community is actually worthwhile… or if I’m just overthinking the whole thing 😂
Would love to hear feedback from people who’ve been around a while and newbies, what are your honest thoughts?
Best Winter Blankets
Any suggestions for a blanket type or brand for freezing Auckland winter nights? Is Sherpa actually the best option?
Right now I sleep with two blankets, one lighter blanket and then a wool blanket over the top and I still freeze. 😭
Would love recommendations for something genuinely warm and fairly large. Budget is around $200 max.
A few options ChatGPT suggested were:
• Living & Co Jacquard Sherpa Blanket (The Warehouse) - around $25
• Living & Co Plush Sherpa Nova Blanket - around $39
• Renee Taylor Heston 480GSM Velvet Sherpa Blanket - around $120 and apparently SUPER warm
• KOO Sherpa Reversible Blanket (Spotlight) - around $59
Would love real opinions though, especially from people who feel like they have this handled. 😂
