[DashSharing] - Standalone 25' cables coming mid-Nov, pre-equipped units by end of year

A quick update from DashSharing on 25' cables based on some questions they’ve been getting:

>The standalone 25' cables will be ready around mid-November for under $100 (exact price TBD). Swapping cables isn't something we officially recommend for safety reasons, but we know a lot of people want the option, so we're making them available.

>If you'd rather get one pre-equipped with a 25' cable out of the box, those will be ready toward the end of the year.

See their Comment here

Or the main DashSharing Post for more information on their offers.

Any questions for DashSharing themselves, ask them there, or tag u/DashSharing here.

[GreenMiles] by Pion Power - Earn $0.10/kWh for EV charging + Top-up bonuses, and $0.16/kWh after 5000 kWh, until Dec. 31st (Pion charger required - J1772 or NACS)

Previous GreenMiles Post

Now $0.16 per kWh after 5000 kWh (until Dec. 31, 2026) - thereafter the reward rate for 2027 will be evaluated and announced.

------------------------

With this program you can earn points from charging your EV at home and redeem the points for cash.

  • Earn $0.10 per kWh. Guaranteed rate for 2026
  • Every 1,000 points (1,000 kWh) can be redeemed for $100.
  • No membership fees or deposits.
  • Anywhere in Canada
  • Level 1 or level 2 capable (either will earn GreenMiles)

Also

  • Does require a Pion Power Flex AC or Flex AC Elite EVSE
  • Requires a Wifi connection to track energy usage and verify province.

Current Top up Program - 2026 April 1st to December 31st

For the following level of points accumulated you earn:
1000 pts: Flex-AC Silicone Case
2000 pts: 5-PC Insulated Tool Set
4000 pts: P201 Portable Power Station
8000 pts: $300 Store Credit

The top-up tiers are cumulative - E.g. if someone reaches 8000 points, they receive the rewards from all (4) tiers, not just the highest.

Thanksgiving Appreciation Offer

Receive $0.16 per kWh after 5000 kWh of charging. The 5000 kWh milestone is:

  • Based on actual charging activity (not including bonus points such as welcome offer or referral, like with the Top-up bonus that is based on points).
  • Calculated from the beginning of GreenMiles participation (all eligible charging since joining, which could be as early as October 2025)

Payout based on calendar year (plus any points carried over), with payment made in the following March (after credit verification). Or:

Early access (redemption): Redeem as store credits at anytime you reached 1,000 points milestone.

Welcome Bonus 20 points ($2) when you register for GreenMiles.

200 bonus points ($20) when you sign up using a referral code

Referral code: GREENMILES or reply with a request below.

Discount Codes on charger purchase:

GREENDPION10
WELCOMEPION5

(both codes should stack at checkout)

Note: the discount codes and referral code are two separate types of codes.

  • The discount codes are used when purchasing a Flex-AC Elite charger, on the checkout page.
  • The referral code is used after receiving and setting up the charger, when you go to activate GreenMiles in the app, there will be a spot in the Terms page for this code.

The EVSEs (chargers)

All chargers are plug in models with 5-15 (120V, level 1) and 14-50 (240V, level 2) adapters.

Flex-AC LE does not qualify for GreenMiles.

Flex-AC has been discontinued but if you already have it or can buy it second-hand, it works for GreenMiles. Came in 32A and 40A options.

Flex-AC Elite is the new generation with Bluetooth (works better for setup). Comes in 32A and 40A, J1772 and now NACS options.

Labour day sale.
August 21st to September 10th

$299.99 for Flex AC Elite 32A
$349.99 for Flex AC Elite 40A (J1772 or NACS pre-order)

Discount codes:

GREENDPION10
WELCOMEPION5
JUSTKIDDING

(enter all at checkout - let me know if they don't work)

Elite has the "Intelligent charging" feature, which is the setting for Plug and Charge (act as a dumb charger). But a work-around for the non-Elite is to set a 24/7 schedule.

The EVSEs are:

  • CSA listed
  • Adapters for 120V and 240V
  • Current adjustable in app (in 1A increments down to 6A)
  • Schedule can be set in app (e.g. charge overnight from 11pm to 7am), which also allows to set the current

Is this legit, or too good to be true?

- The basis of this program is the Federal Government's "Clean Fuel Regulations" (CFR), which similarly to the previous carbon tax, it's goal is to reduce carbon intensity. In a nutshell, gasoline and diesel companies need to reduce their carbon intensity, and this is done with carbon credits they create or purchase from other companies. Carbon credits are earned from supplying EV charging, for example.

Warning: Civility and Political Rules are going to be enforced, including with bans.

Mods have seen a lot of comments recently that are political, personal attacks, inflammatory, offensive, etc.

We've been relaxed, given a lot of leeway, and typically just delete them... But it has gotten too much.

So from now on, the rules on "Keep it civil" and "On Topic" are going to be strictly enforced, starting with temp bans on first offence to permanent ban by third offence.

It is okay to state a personal preference (where appropriate), such as where a vehicle is made, or details about a vehicle.

Making personal attacks/name calling other people, such as Nazi comments or the like, is definitely not okay, and will be dealt with.

This includes CEOs. If you disagree with someone, state your disagreement and sources - Don't call them stupid, mental, etc.

Okay

  • "I wouldn't buy a [XYZ country] EV for political reasons"
  • "I like the steering wheel on XYZ car better"
  • "The EVAP could have been better by...."

NOT Okay

  • "XYZ is a nazi"
  • "You're stupid"
  • "XYZ political party ruined EV adoption"

Are more examples/clarification needed or is this self-explanatory?

If someone makes an inflammatory comment, even to you directly, do not engage and further inflame - or you will face repercussions as well. The appropriate action would be to just ignore, or report/notify mods. We do monitor those, even though it may not be immediate.

Use the report function appropriately - if you truly see an inappropriate comment, please report. But do not report just because you personally don't like something.

Note: We have not and will not be taking a political stance as Mods. That's not to say that we don't have any or it's a bad thing, but this sub is not the place for those arguments.

Camera system for travel trailer (rear and side/blind spot) and GMC truck.

Suggestions/experiences on a camera system for a travel trailer (Bigfoot 21FB and 2025 GMC)? What to look for?

I want a rear view, as well as side/blind spots - Primarily for backing up/manoeuvring, but would be useful for driving as well.

It seems the better/recommended standard is 1080P and 7" screen? How does that look for you?

Some better ones appear to include the Furrion Vision S and Haloview BT7... or are there less expensive systems worth getting?

-----------------------------

I saw somewhere that there's an issue with newer GMC trucks requiring an adapter?

What exactly is the issue, and how does this fix it? (I would prefer to do something inside the trailer if needed/possible)

Not Tesla, ChargePoint, Flo, or Grizzl-E

How secure are Google Forms? For bank account information?

A company is offering to do direct deposit payment, which I typically would prefer also.

Although they sent a link to fill out a Google Form (which includes stuff like bank account number and void cheque).... And I have my hesitations.

Is Google Forms secure? If there's different options for security, how do I tell?

Can you provide a link for documentation whichever way the answer is?

The company itself I know and trust, and the payment is valid... but I'm not 100% confident on their measures (in an knowledgeable sense).

Silverado EV Inventory (across North America)

For people in the know or paying attention... What are the inventory levels looking like for the SEV?

I've been looking recently, and there doesn't seem to be much out there in Canada - a handful of new SEVs per province kind of thing (some more in QC). Much less than there was a while ago.

Does that seem accurate? When I asked a dealer they did figure like 3 on the ground in ON for example. I don't see a way to search across the country easily.

Is inventory low in the US as well? I thought I heard a rumour about a lot of stock sitting around and significant discounts but not sure if that's accurate either (or any more).

AC180 - what process/checks happens when connecting to "grid" with charging set to silent mode?

We have a AC180, and wondering what exactly happens when it's plugged into the grid.

For example, what checks/tests does it do before it tries to charge? What is it looking for?

When it's set to "silent" mode in the app, it displays about 250W input. It can be set to charge much faster. Does it "spike/surge" at all when it starts up? Or slowly get to 250W?

I'm asking in part because the 400W AC outlet on my GMC truck doesn't seem to agree with the Bluetti (kicks out when starting up).
