Why is Farsi written in Naskh instead of Nastaliq?

In Pakistan pretty much everything is written in nastaliq and naskh is unreadable. Nastaliq was used by all the Persianite countries like the Ottoman empire, Safavids and Mughal empire. So why is it that Persian itself is written in naskh? The argument that computer support is bad makes sense but nowadays most computers support nastaliq and I’ve read even in hand writing people use naskh. Pakistan uses nastaliq without issue. Is it the same deal in Afghanistan? Whenever I search this up only Iranian Persian shows up not Afghan Persian.

What determines the gender of English words in Hindi? When will a word be female even when not ending in -y, -e, -ing?

So I mostly watch Hinglish videos and I noticed people say "bari factory" instead of "bara factory". There's "-ing" ending as in "Konsi party se funding aati hai tumko". People also say "meri state". Are there any others that I'm missing? It seems like it's always something ending in -y, -e, -ing. But then I came across "purani bus", so what are the English in Hindi that don't end in a -y, -e, -ing but are still female?

Do you use traditional units of measurement or only metric?

In India the outside temperature is measured in celsius but body temperature is measured in farenheit. We're officially metric but house sizes are in feets and people say "I'm 6ft" not "I'm 180cm". However distances are always in kms and weights are always in kgs. We have an even more ancient measuring system but we don't use it anymore because of colonialism. I noticed in China they use jin to mean half a kg and liang to mean 50 grams so 1 jin 2 liang is 600 grams. In Japan it's metric for almost everything but tatami mats as a measure of room size is still very common and sometimes they use Japanese inches. What about your country? Do people with different religions also use different counting systems so Muslims will use the Arabic units of measurement while Christians will use the traditional system?

I'm reading through this book called "The Decline and Fall of the British Empire" by Elliott Evans Mills in 1905 which's set in 2005 Tokyo. I know the Yellow peril started in Germany and Russia around this time and despite Britain being an ally to Japan this book is written as if the author's fully convinced the British Empire will fall and Japan will rise. Many colonized people also took great pride in Japan's victory over the Russian Empire like Nehru and Sun Yat Sen. So why was it so shocking when both Ethiopia had defeated Italy 10 years earlier with modern weapons and Afghanistan had beat Britain 60 years earlier.
