2006 George Michael 25 Alive Fan Club tour merch
Back in the early 2000s, my wife mentioned that George Michael (GM) was on her top 5 must see list. So when his 25 Alive tour was announced, I knew I had to step up and get her great seats.
I found out that one must be a member of the GM Fan Club in order to get in on the ticket pre-sale, so I ponied up the $40 and joined the club.
I wanted this to be a night to remember so I kicked down $600 for two floor seats to the opening night of the tour in San Diego. Since her birthday and our anniversary are just 6 days apart, this would be a gift for both occasions. Things were tight back then for us, and this was a big extravagance.
Shortly before the tour, a rather large box arrived. I didn't remember ordering anything, and one can imagine my surprise to find two GM 25 Alive backpacks and 2 silicone bracelets with USB drives tucked into them. The USB drives contained 25 music videos.
To this day, that was one of the greatest shows we've attended, and we are both so happy we got to see him, before it was too late.
