What’s the cheapest toy in your house that punches way above its weight class?

I’m looking for recommendations for those rare, magical toys that ended up being worth every single penny (and then some). For us, it’s that little $10-$15 Fisher-Price instant camera. It was cheap, but kids across a huge range of ages absolutely love it and it gets with consistently over the years between my 5 year old and 18 month old.

What are those sleeper-hit, high-value toys in your house that ended up being way better and more long-lasting than you ever expected?

Pod kids book service advice

I’m looking for a computer that can print short kids books on a one off basis with an api that are printed and shipped quickly.

I’ve looked at lulu and Mixam , but my primary concern is the time it takes to get to the customer

What other options might be faster

Lulu ship and print times are a minimum of 7 days but up to 2 weeks - with expedited shipping it would take 8 to 9 business days

With Lulu a book ordered today on June 25th wouldn’t get to the customer (in the us) until July 8th or 9th for about $28 shipped

Mixam ship times and print times would mean a book sold today on June 35th wouldn’t get shipped for a week and then it would take another 3-4 days

With mixam the book would be ready on July 1st and can bet to the customer by July 7th for about $26.50 to New York, $34 shipped to Beverly Hills, $27 to Memphis

1968 King 2B trombone- famous jazz horn for sale

Up for sale is a legendary staple of the commercial jazz world: a 1968 King 2B Small Bore Trombone (Serial No. 428284).

Manufactured during the highly desirable Eastlake transition window, this instrument features the iconic, historic H.N. White-era build specifications that professional players, lead trombonists, and commercial gigging musicians track down for their fast response, exceptional slotting, and bright, cutting projection.

This is an authentic, honest "Player’s Horn." Because it isn't choked or muffled by a thick layer of modern lacquer, it vibrates freely and sounds absolutely spectacular with that classic late-'60s punch.

🛠️ Elite Mechanical Condition (Serviced by J. Landress Brass in Manhattan)
While many vintage horns online are a complete gamble, this slide is the smoothest you've seen with no resistance. It has been professionally optimized and dialed in by the premier master technicians at J.

Landress Brass in Manhattan.
The Slide: Serial number 428284. It is structurally sound, perfectly aligned, and features an incredibly fast, smooth, effortless action that plays amazingly well.

Please make sure to watch the included video in the media gallery to see and hear the smooth, effortless slide action in real-time!

Cosmetic Condition & Character (Please See Photos)

This instrument has spent its life doing exactly what it was built to do—making great music. It wears its history openly and proudly:
There is significant, honest lacquer wear along the bell flare, the slide bow, and down the gooseneck/bell stem where a player’s hands naturally grip the brass.

The metal displays vintage brass oxidation, minor pitting. These photos were taken after a warm bath with mild dish soap.

Crucially, the historic, ornate floral "KING" engraving remains visible, but it is harder to see in photos.

What’s Included in This Package:
The 1968 King 2B Trombone (Bell & Handslide)

Modern Premium Soft Case: A newer, lightweight, highly protective gig bag equipped with plush protective interior padding, backpack straps, and a roomy external accessory pocket. Perfect for the traveling or commuting musician.

Shipping & Terms
Shipping: Ships fully insured via UPS/FedEx Ground in the Continental U.S. The horn will be meticulously packed with the slide securely locked, the bell wrapped in heavy-duty bubble wrap, and the case suspended inside a rigid, professional instrument shipping box to ensure safe arrival. Buyer pays shopping

Photos/Video: Please study the close-up photos and slide video carefully, as they serve as the ultimate, transparent description of the cosmetic lacquer wear and exceptional slide action.

Returns: Due to its vintage nature, this setup is sold as-is.

Don't miss out on a turn-key, legendary '60s jazz setup with a slide dialed in by New York's absolute best brass shop. Buy with absolute confidence!

For Sale: 1968 King 2B Small Bore Trombone Serial & Modern Case- Landress Serviced Slide

I have a 1968 King 2B Liberty I want to sell, and I haven't played it since 2020. Has some oxidation on the bell. Slide is super smooth.

Many of you have reached out about buying it - I posted the horn on an eBay listing for both auction and buy it now as well.

Just added a video of the slide right before I gave the horn a bath. WOW - no grease added since 2020 and it just flys.

Architect or full service company for deck and screened porch

I’m looking for an architect or company that specializes in decks and screened porches.

I have a two level deck and an above ground pool that I want to replace with a new deck and screened porch. My house already has an extension on the back where a screened in porch would have gone, so i need to do more planning then a typical project.

Has anyone done something similar and have recommendations ?

Vintage King 2B with possible red rot - does it have any value to sell?

I pulled out my 1968 King 2B after having it sit in a closet since 2020 to check it out, and it's covered in what I'm guessing is red rot. It did not look this way when I put it away, the lacquer was worn, but it had no red spots.

i was looking to sell it, but I have no idea if someone will buy a trombone in this state. The slide is buttery smooth and only has one spot of red on it, but the bell looks pretty rough.

Any ideas on if there is a market or any value for this kind of instrument?
