Would Nietzsche have criticized hiis own followers?

One of the bigest ironies about Nietzsche is that some of his biggest admirers sem to embody the vry thing he criticized.

From my surface-level understanding, Nietzsche's philosophy was deeply opposed to herd mentality people blindly following authority, trends, or popular opinion instead of thinking for themselve

Yet today, there seems to be a subset of self-proclaimed intellectuals who praise Nietzsche simply because he's considered "deep" or intellectually fashionable. They quote him, treat his words as unquestionable, and use his name as a badge of intelligence without critically engaging with his ideas.

If that's the case, aren't they doing exactly what Nietzsche warned against? Blindly following an authority—even if that authority is Nietzsche himself—seems like the very definition of herd mentality.

Am I misunderstnding his philosophy, or is this irony something others have noticed as well?

Pakistanis and their power trips. And i am done with it

I'm a BSc Part 2 student. Today was my chemistry practical, so I went to the college because the lab assistant had previously told me that our practicals would be on the 3rd of this month. When I got there, I was told they weren't taking boys today because it was "girls only." The problem is that this was never mentioned on the official date sheet. Also, in our department, although there's a group-wise practical schedule on paper, it's almost never followed. Students usually just come, give their practical, and leave regardless of their assigned group. What made it even more frustrating was that I saw the lecturer take the practicals of a few boys he personally knew, while refusing mine. I went to the lecturer and politely explained that I had come from far away and asked if he could please take my practical as well. Instead of answering calmly, he became irritated and accused me of "arguing with a teacher." At one point he even asked for my roll number, which felt like an attempt to intimidate me, although he didn't actually write anything down or take any formal action. He eventually just told me to come back on Monday because that was supposedly my group's day. I never raised my voice or argued—I only asked why I couldn't take the practical when the date sheet didn't mention a girls-only day and other boys were being allowed to take theirs.

I am so done with pakistan. like is a lecturer supposed to behave like this.

Prologue for a short story looking for honest critique

I’m working on a dark, philosophical story where Death is the narrator. This is the opening/prologue. I’d really appreciate honest feedback—especially on: Does the voice of Death feel distinct or too human? Does the opening feel intriguing or too generic/philosophical? Would this make you want to keep reading? I’m open to criticism, so don’t hold back.

Draft #1

Ironic, isn't it? How humans parade their kindness — while crushing others beneath it. Kindness only matters to them when it's convenient, when it fits their needs.

I've seen kings who believed they were eternal die like dogs. Generals, conquerors, men who once shook the world — all scrambling after what their kind calls greatness. Glory. Fame. Power. Praise.

But never what is truly worth manifesting.

Who am I to speak of kindness, anyway? I am Death. I don’t show mercy. I don’t delay. If your time has come, I come.

But… there was one soul. So gentle. So kind. That even I — for a moment — hesitated.

What was his name? I can’t recall. No one who met him seems to remember.

Let’s just call him the boy.

I wrote script for a youtube short how is it ?

It was my first time writing for this format

title the fall of icarus

He fell knowing that to fall means to once have soared. "Fall and get up." We hear it a lot. From movies to books, from sacred texts to everyday chat. But what does it mean? Fall and get up... only to realize we are in a pit of our mind? Where the light that we see might be where our doom lies? But do we care about it? The human tendency to reach for it is far greater than the fear of doom. We still reach for it, even with the fear of doom. Failing... falling... we still seek that light... Which might have been within us all this time.

Just finished The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini and I'm pretty disappointed

So I just fnished Reading The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini and tbh I am disappointed by it It wasn't anywhere near A Thouaand Splendid Suns, which kept me on my toes the entire time with its emotional and hard-to-swallow scenes Whereas Kite Runner just tries to force a reaction out of you with look bad things are happening to characters you're supposed to feel sad for. The predictability of what was going to happen also kinda killed the plot for me. The only character I really felt Bad for was Hassan. Agha Sahib (Amir's dad) was a dishonest man. Not only did he betray Ali but everyone that loved him. Like when he tells Amir that the biggest sin is theft, he was clearly talking about himself and how he was a sinner. He could have mended his ways after he realized what he had done, but other than that the story didn't have much to present for me

I went in with high expectations after loving A Thousand Splndid Suns, but this one didn't hit the same way. Anyone else feel the same or am I being too harsh?

Finished reading:Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

It’s been about ten days since I finished the book, and I finally sat down to wrtte this.

Chamber of Secrets is a fantastic fastpaced read with a really strong story. Coming from the movies first (I watched them as a kid), I was surprised by how much more I enjoyed the book. The extra scenes and detaills that didn’t make it into the film actually add a lot the ghost Halloween party for example was so much fun and something I would have loved to see on screen The writing pulls you in right from the first chapter and keeps the momentum going throughout. Even though I already knew the main plot from the movies the book still felt fresh and imersive

Also how it explores other characters that were negileted in movies

Overall it’s a really enjoyable and fun continuation of the serie.

it had been sitting in my tbr list for a while and as it is with short stories they try to just get a reaction out of you in either ways shock/gore but this story was different as rise of AI we could say we might be near to it being reality.

as i started reading it. in start it felt like an usual dystopiyan story where AI takes over the world and makes human suffer. but as we go on to reading it, it reveals to us that things might not be as simple as they sound AM the AI isnt just a program but something deep more like it is more human than those he is keeping alive. was AM evil, was he good we cant say because what makes it evil if it was created for it. at the end it became the story of AM and not of our protagonist. he tortured them not because he had liked it but more like a coping mechanism to justify its own existence. like he had nothing but just to torture them to justify his existence because if they aren't there than there is nothing for AM to exist

AM tortured them not out of hatred but because it was the only proof he existed

What are your thoughts on it ???

AM, the AI, isn't just a program but something deeper — more like it is more human than those he is keeping alive. Was AM evil? Was he good? We can't say — we have no moral ground for AI to decide it. At the end, it became the story of AM and not of our protagonist. He tortured them not because he had liked it, but more like a coping mechanism to justify its own existence.
