Can topical steroids reveal LS?
After my first appt with gynecologist I was started on estrogen cream and lidocaine for tearing, itching, bleeding, painful sex, etc. The works. The weeks after the appointment I became convinced I have/could have LS because everything got significantly worse and rapidly. The more I read, the more I could relate to all the symptoms EXCEPT having white patches or shiny/wrinkly skin. The thing is, I thought I had the shiny and wrinkly skin, it was just hard to see under the fucking bright red inflammation, cuts and lesions.
Anyway I talked to my gyn for a phone appointment follow up 5 weeks after the initial appt, and told him that everything got worse and that I think I may have LS due to all the signs and symptoms. He said that he didn't see any evidence of it during the physical exam. He told me to discontinue the creams and was going to prescribe a topical steroid cream and mentioned that even if I did have LS he would prescribe that anyway.
So it's only been 5 days on mometasone and I'm already so much better 😭 its such a fucking relief. No pain. No itching. No cuts just opening or reopening for seemingly no reason. And now that I'm not inflamed and not bleeding snd being torn open, I can see very clearly instances of wrinkly/crinkly shiny skin.
So, to get to the point, has anyone else ever had this experience where starting treatment made it show up clearer?
Edit: format turned out weird
Guidance/Advice for intimacy and pain
I'm finally seeking help for my issues after about 6 years of symptoms. It started off very mild (little tears/cuts after sex with previous partner), got worse with my husband who is thicker, and in the last six months has escalated to the point where I'm terrified of having sex and I'm in pain and itching constantly. Ive already read through a number of threads and articles about physical intimacy and non-penetrative sex, but I'm looking for even more ideas, because I have an issue that I don't see mentioned a lot.
Also pls note that I'm not diagnosed and I'm currently only using estrogen and lidocaine creams. I have a follow up appointment in a few weeks and I'm gonna ask to get the biopsy done. The way it has progressed makes me strongly believe its LS. I also have Crohn's so its not unreasonable or unsurprising to end up with another autoimmune disease.
My problem area is my vaginal opening and perineum, but now its starting to just be all over, especially the areas between my labia majora and minora, and now around my clitoral hood.
Like, I can't even masturbate now with my small bullet vibrator without getting little cuts and now small lesions above and around my clitoris/inside the top of the labia majora, and it stings and hurts like crazy.
It's like my entire nether regions can't be touched at this point. So now even with my fear of sex and not being able to do PIV, I can't even have him touch me there. I can't even get myself off. I also am not into nipple stuff because mine are extremely sensitive and I feel no pleasure from them being touched.
I just want to feel close to him physically but its hard for me to feel even the slightest bit horny when everything hurts and burns and stings.
He has been absolutely amazing and supportive.
Edit: Thanks for the replies so far but the point of my post is I'm asking for ideas and advice on how to be physically intimate with my partner.
Weren't codes supposed to go out today?
Has anyone received anything?
Edit: An email went out saying that there has been a delay.
Ideas for putting up curtains?
We're struggling to get curtain rods up. I initially tried hanging them from the ceiling but its popcorn and also not really letting me drill into it.
These applicators came with the estrogen cream. There's no suction so the cream will literally fall/spill right out of the tube. Does anyone have any advice? I'm thinking of grabbing some syringes from work and using those instead LOL
This is for the people who fly porter often - in your experience do the prices for seats ever dip? I decided not to buy my seat when I booked to see if they would go down, but I dont want to wait too long.
I've had my birds nest fern for about two months. It continued to grow and felt too big for its pot, but also, the edges of the leaves started to crisp up. I put her in a bigger pot hoping that moisture would stay longer, and started misting her every single day. I do think the current pot is too big. I only water whenever the soil shows me it needs it (I use a long stir stick and check the moisture). She gets sunlight from sunrise to sunset from east facing windows.
I started noticing fungus gnats about 2 weeks ago. I put some cinnamon in there thanks to Google and because we dont have mosquito bits here (can I crush up Mosquito Dunks???). Now a few days ago I noticed mushrooms are growing!!!!
The plant is still growing and unfurling new beautiful leaves constantly but they are still crisping up. So its not humid enough for her, but her soil is also too moist, causing fungus gnats and mushrooms?
Are the mushrooms spores safe for me and my cats to breathe in? Do I scrap the plant entirely? Should I repot it with new soil and mosquito dunks mixed in?
