I'm writing a story from a 1st person past point of view. the main character is recounting the story of his descent and the road he took to get there. He speaks in bleak tones as he recounts his old friendships, journeys, battles, and whatnot. I was taught that a story has to be told in an interesting and somewhat energetic tone to keep the reader interested but how can I manage that with a main character who is too dreadful to manage such tones.

imagine this, a character is stuck in a desert, or a character is in an intense battle or whatever. if the story is narrated by said character in the future wouldn't that ruin the tension? If the readers already know they live the conflict, why bother? especially if it is early in the story. the readers wouldn't be truly interested in them yet.

I'm new to this whole "writing" thing and I'm trying to write a story. it is written from the perspective of the main character in the present. but I'm very confused to how some sentences would work. for example, would it be " The boy stepped forward, (the rest)" or " The boy is stepping forward, (the rest)"? how would I figure it out? as the first one is technically past tense cuz of the (ed) but the second one sounds so wrong.

I think if they make it limited based on your level or rank it could work. So a lvl 10 silver dude can't pull up on you with a mark 3 teth for example. You unlock more tradable robots with higher levels the more you progress. I think trading would be really good for people who want a robot that they can't get and have something worth it. And I assume all the old robots like golem would be worth alot

I have been wanting to get him for a while now but I'm afraid that he is obsolete now. On the other hand he is so under used I don't think people know not to attack a leeching leech.
