I’m not a native speaker (my dad almost never spoke Spanish at home), so I learned Spanish in school. Is it ever “rude” to use the indicative instead of the subjunctive (or subjunctive instead of indicative)? I feel awkward using the indicative with clients at work when describing how to do something, and I don’t know if it’s because the subjunctive was emphasized a bunch in school or if it’s because I associate the subjunctive with Ud commands.
