That went from a largely forgotten, dismissed or even derided to acknowledged, valued and now celebrated. That has people moving there and singing its praises to the moon. Possibly due to cost, family oriented, economic stability, quiantness.

Calgary - 2000s Red Mile (17th Ave) vs. 80s-90s Electric Avenue (11th Avenue).

Saskatoon - Broadway Avenue.

Vancouver - Granville Street.

Regina - Albert Street.

Winnipeg - Main Street.

Toronto - Spadina Avenue.

Montreal - Crescent Street.

Ottawa - Elgin Street.

"St. James really fell off due to the separatism scare"

"Howe Street used to host Christmas parties that wouldn't be allowed in today's environment"

The three activities/events that those in the influence circle will certainly attend or partake in. That their inclusion in all three is shorthand in your city that they belong to this group without officially saying it and others recognize it right away.

For example:

Calgary -> 1. Flames season tickets / 2. Gold invite to at least one Stampede private exclusive parties / 3. Membership at one of private recreation centers (Winter Club, Glencoe). Bonus points for country club membership in a course just outside the city limits or part of a competitive adult hockey league.

Toronto -> 1. Access to a cottage in Muskoka/PEC 2. On the board of a Not for Profit 3. Can get lower bowl tickets to Leafs/Raptors on a short notice.

Since they were literally big fishes in a small pond. That they were out every weekend and essentially fixtures at the popular bars and nightclubs.

And flexed their cachet by skipping the lineups, crowding the bar area with buying dozens of shots, having a VIP area sealed off, commandeering the dancefloor.

Just generally acting like they owned the place and definitely mixing it up with the lady folk 😉

Especially in Prairies, where they were literally big fishes in a small pond. That they were out every weekend and essentially permanent fixtures at the popular bars and nightclubs.
