My wife is currently in her 36th week of pregnancy. We've consulted several gynecologists across Islamabad, including Ali Medical, Advance International, and a few other hospitals, but we're still struggling to decide what's best for us.
So far, everything looks good for a normal delivery, but my wife is concerned about how much her preferences will be respected during labor. Specifically, we're hoping to find a doctor or hospital that is supportive of:
• Trying different birth positions during labor and delivery (instead of only delivering flat on the back)
• Avoiding routine episiotomies unless medically necessary
• Keeping the labor environment not AC cold as that stiffens the muscles
• Generally allowing the mother more control and involvement in decisions during labor
We're new to the city, and unfortunately both of our mothers passed away before our marriage, so we don't have much family guidance and are feeling quite overwhelmed.
Can anyone recommend a hospital or gynecologist in Islamabad/Rawalpindi that supports natural birth preferences? Ideally, we're looking for a facility with LDR (Labor-Delivery-Recovery) rooms or dedicated birthing suites where the mother can stay in the same room throughout the process.
Any recommendations or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated.
