Some interesting news on IL2:Cliffs of Dover, BoB and Adlertag Campaigns

When asked about his work on the Battle of Britain campaign and Adler Tag, ATAG_Lenny replied:

"I've forgotten when I last posted.

It's been a slow couple of months due to parental health issues (non-life threatening) and work stuff. But... I'm putting the finishing touches on Adlertag this weekend (August 13, 1940.... my goodness, 86 years today, EDT). So far about 750 individual sorties starting July 2, 1940 (Luftschlacht um England declared) to date. About 180 Blue Bomber sorties, 300 Blue fighter sorties, 25 Red bomber sorties (I am including Bomber Command and Coastal Command historical missions) and 250 Red fighter sorites, give or take.

I see it right now as 4 DLC complete (July 2-9 Luftschlact um England beginnt, July 10-22 The Battle of Britain Begins, July 23-29 Kanalkampf Part 1 and July 30-August 8 Kanalkampf Part 2).

Currently I see this next phase as being named the obvious Adlerangriff. It's interesting to myself that I keep finding the correct naming convention as being the German definition of the phase. To overstate the obvious, these DLC include almost every known historical combat encounter, be it Fighter Command, Bomber Command, Coastal Command or Luftwaffe, that occurred on the Channel map.

I press on. I think I'm driving to replicate beyond October 31st all the way to December 31 as we do have an Autumn and winter map and John Foreman wrote an interesting book on this time period. Next might be Operation Compass on the Tobruk map.

Right now sorties are organized in subfolders under Single Missions by Phase, then Day, then Time, then Combat Encounter, with available sorties from either side listed by aircraft, squadron/staffel and mission type. So you would be free to experience the Battle of Britain any way you want. But it would be pretty daunting for anyone to figure out where to start and where to go next, given it is over 750 sorties right now and likely to be in the thousands before I am done..

So there will at least be a compendium list of all missions available with key information that may allow the player to filter and choose. But... we are experimenting with a custom interface that would allow the player to do the filtering for themselves. For example, maybe you just want to just fly the Me-109 E-1. Then you could filter all current 750 sorties for just that aircraft.

Maybe you want to experience the Battle of Britain from the perspective of a particular squadron/staffel. Then you could find and fly all of those missions.

Whether the experiments will work is not fully determined yet. There are a number of quantitative criteria that we could use to filter but also a number of qualitative criteria.

So head on over the Singleplayer thread and I'll post some of my thoughts there as I would really like to get some community feedback on this topic.

Is there any other game on PS5 that offers as much flexibility in photo mode?

I tend to invest a lot of time in a game I like and rather than play multiple games for a short time, I try and focus on one and get good at it (Not there yet with GY7 :) )

Anyway, while working through the game, I came across the photo mode and it opened up a whole new avenue to me. The array of options for focus, depth of field, shutter speed, etc. really allow great flexibility to be creative and show case just how good the graphics are. I'll add a couple of pics for illustration purposes only.

I'm just wondering, is this pretty unique to the Gran Turismo franchise or are there any other games out there that have a true dedicated photo mode (other than the GT series)? I do wish the video camera options allowed for camera placement and slow motion 14 or 1/2 speed, but it's not a deal breaker.

Thoughts?

Decided to add a few more Police Cars to chase the General Lee at Fisherman's Ranch.

Following on from yesterdays clip, I pushed the limit a bit and decided to have the General Lee from the "Dukes of Hazzard", being chased by a few more Police cars, almost like "Blues Brothers" scenario. A lot of fun :)

Just a few images from recent excursions in the mighty 787B, my favourite car in the game (so far) 😉

Just love this car and I think it photographs really well.

Watching the Stig talk about a life changing injury...should the Police have investigated it?

I watched the recent interview where the Stig discussed the Freddie Flintoff crash which at the time was considered LC/LT. Due to how serious it was, and would be considered (I assume) an accident in the workplace, I was surprised to hear the the Morgan company were allowed to remove the vehicle from the scene and the Police have not been involved.

Just for my own interest, why don't or didn't the Police need to be involved at the time? It was interesting to hear the suggestion that those at the track believed there had been a failure in the vehicle but Morgan were allowed to remove that piece of evidence.

Loving the Raptor with Maverick engine swap in the dirt

Absolutely loving the Raptor with the Windsor-351-Maverick engine swap (even if it goes a little sideways sometimes )

With yet another roster update touted as a complete new game, what is/was your best NHL game ever?

Genuinely interested to know what you think is the peak of gaming for NHL. I recently posted that NHL 06 was my favourite, but second place would be NHL 98.

So that means my favourite was 20-yeara ago 😔

Out of interest, what do you consider the NHL game that stands out amongst a dynasty of games and gave you the most satisfaction the digital ice?

I still think NHL 06 was the best this game ever was.

I have played so many different years and updates, starting with NHL 96 and while the graphics have obviously improved and small features have been added, I just feel the peak of gameplay was NHL 06. The control, gameplay, speed and features all felt worthwhile and practical, now then so many features feels added 'fpr the same of it's.

Does anyone else have a best season/year they played.

Looking for a 32" OLED Monitor for the PS5 (but also PC)

The room I use for gaming also serves as a PC game room too.

As much as I'd like a 4K OLED TV in there, it would be too large, because as I understand it, 43" is the smallest true 4K screen size?

So, as it's for the PS5 and PC, can anyone recommend a 32" OLED screen that would suit a PC and PS5?

Just a few GT7 pix. This is such a great game.

The 787B is a bit of a favourite, but I look forward to the new Hyper cars getting a show ;)

Flying Lap for Gold at Sardegna....beyond frustrating, but finally did it!

6-hours and finally in the 6th hour, I cracked the trophy open..... can't tell you how irritating this was and glad it's finally over.

Mazda 787B tune - 1m 30s laps at Sardegna.

Spent a while getting this right. Gets a a sub 25 minute race easily and there is at least another 3-4 seconds per lap available, I'm just a rubbish driver. Times set using a controller.

Out of interest, what are players choice for the 'best' to dominate the "Du Mans" CR grind?

I have been using the Red Bull Jr., tuned to 699PP, can complete the race without refueling if set to 5 or 6 on lean fuel mixture and Hard Tyres. Not often it only gives a shower of rain, but if it does then it's effectively a no stopper.

Average lap is between 4.11 - 4.15 depending how bad I drive 😂

What's your choice of car/setting?
