Amazing show start to finish. Band was so in sync and musicianship was off the charts. Had no idea Matt could shred like that. Perfect weather and great view. Long live rock n roll.

10 years ago yesterday, I saw MCS for the first time (and what I thought would be the last time) in Charlotte, NC on their So Long, Farewell Tour. Possibly my favorite band of all time ever since I discovered them in middle school.

First time seeing them, really loved it. Michael just seemed so happy to be there and share this music with us. And the band was amazing — so interesting watching them put all the synth- and beat-heavy songs together piece by piece. Awesome venue as well. Go see them if you can!

Long-time lover of Pokémon but admittedly mostly via the show and movies as a kid, and other games like Snap and Stadium/Colossseum, the pinball games, and GO when it was huge for a bit. Never put in the hours to actually finish one of the mainline games but always thought it'd be cool to catch the original 150 on official hardware. With both me and Pokémon turning 30 this year, and the release of FR and LG on the Switch, it felt like the right time. 😊

Long-time lover of Pokémon but admittedly mostly via the show and movies as a kid, and other games like Snap and Stadium/Colossseum, the pinball games, and GO when it was huge for a bit. Never put in the hours to actually finish one of the mainline games but always thought it'd be cool to catch the original 150 on official hardware. With both me and Pokémon turning 30 this year, and the release of FR and LG on the Switch, it felt like the right time.

Got all three starters on LG with the help of a friend's console and beat E4 for the first time with Charizard, Pikachu, Gengar, Venusaur, and Blastoise. Intentionally did not evolve Pikachu bc I love him.

Finished postgame quests and caught all the Gen I mons I could, along with Lugia, Ho-Oh, Deoxys, and my roamer (Entei).

Bought a Switch Lite temporarily just to play through FR and catch the remaining exclusives and another roamer (Raikou). Tried the FR E4 with just Mewtwo just to see if I could and it was ez.

Finally transferred all the mons to LG and battled the E4 one more time with the legendaries just for fun.

All in all, it was admittedly a grind — took a few months of being really into it and then taking a break on and off. But it was a ton of fun and feels like a nice milestone/achievement. I know my younger self is proud. 😊
