Our laid-off hiking group keeps growing! 🥾

We had even more people show up at our last walk along the Don Valley Trail! It's been great seeing more people come out, meet new friends, and enjoy some time outside together.

Since Monday is Thanksgiving, we're moving next week's walk to Wednesday at 11 AM, and this time we're heading to High Park!

📍 Meeting Point: North Gate Public Washroom, High Park, Toronto 📅 Wednesday, October 14 ⏰ 11:00 AM

Same idea as before — a casual walk for anyone who's laid off, between jobs, taking a career break, or just figuring out what's next.

No networking event, no pitches, no pressure to talk about work. Just come walk, meet some new people, and enjoy getting out of the house for a bit.

Out of Office (Toronto Layoff Hiking Group) - Next week Tommy Thompson Park

[Last week](https://imgur.com/ZhoHwsm), a couple of us went for a walk around Ashbridges Bay and had a great time getting outside, and just chatting about life (and the fun of being between jobs 😅).

We’re doing another one this Monday!

The plan is pretty simple: meet up, walk around Tommy Thompson, enjoy the waterfront, and get to know some new people.

This is mainly for people who are laid off, between jobs, taking a career break, or just figuring out what’s next. No networking agenda, no awkward professional stuff — just a reason to get out of the house and meet some people in a similar situation.

Back at it again :D

Monday 11am next week we will walk around a portion of the Martin Goodman trail. Starting at Leslie St, we will walk east, take a small detour in Ashbridges Bay and end at Woodbine St. Afterwards, if people want to chill by the beach, that would be cool.

Laid off in Toronto? I’m starting a hiking group for people in the same boat

Hi everyone! Similar to the Bay Area layoff hiking group, I thought it would be cool to have a Toronto layoff hiking group.

Every Monday, we’ll go on a hike and chat about random things in life—jobs, hobbies, whatever comes up. No pressure and no networking agenda, just getting outside and meeting people who are in a similar situation.

For this Monday, I’m planning to do the Don River Trail Starting at Mill St and ending at Bloor at 11 AM.

Police won't sent case to crown

My ex (who is a lawyer) stole money from me. I have evidence showing that it definitely happened and the police agrees with me. However, they won't give the case to the crown, not because it did not it did not meet the Criminal Code, but because they believe the crown won't take it.

I feel frustrated as to what I can do because any civil situation will cost more money, especially since my ex is a lawyer and will outlast me in terms of money.
