Has anyone successfully recreated Just Egg?

I really love Just Egg, but I would love to make my own version that only uses natural ingredients. I've made some attempts using mung beans and/or silken tofu, but so far what I've made is absolutely nothing like Just Egg at all. Have you had any success?

Found family in fantastical settings like A Long Time Dead?

I just finished A Long Time Dead and I absolutely adored it. The found family portion of the story really touched me, I thought the romance scenes were really well done and a lot spicier than what I was expecting, and the conflict between characters felt very compelling. The theme of relentlessly searching for joy and love after abuse survivsorship was beautifully tied into the vampire myth, giving this story so much more depth than I was expecting it to have.

Do you have any books to recommend? I'm also excited to read Samara Breger's other novel A Walk Between Worlds. I've also read all of Becky Chambers work which is very found-family heavy and I also loved (although I wouldn't classify those as romance.)

Swim caps that actually work?

Is there such a thing as swim caps that genuinely prevent any water from touching your hair? Do you have any to recommend?

Do I need to add another exercise or is this enough?

Right now I'm doing sumo squats, rear foot elevated single RDLs, and frog pumps on my glute day. Is this enough to cover all parts of the glutes, or should I add an additional exercise? I work out at home and only have dumbbells

Is there a sub-genre that describes this kind of science fiction?

This year I read To Be Taught if Fortunate by Becky Chambers, The Employees by Olga Ravn, and XX by Rian Hughes.I deeply loved each one, and there is a similar vibe amongst all 3 titles that I don't know quite how to well articulate.

Something they all had in common was expressing the wonder and strangeness of space exploration, questioning what it means to be a person, and using uncommon storytelling structures. The character development wasn't very important, and they didn't have very strong, defined plots. They felt more like they were about expressing a vibe. Something without strong characters or plot sounds like it would be boring on paper, but it was pulled off so well.

I really want to find more books that feel like these, but I'm not sure how to describe them well. Have you read these titles too? Do you feel like there's a succinct way to describe the kind of story that they are? Also do you have any book recommendations for me?

Are there any other authors like Rian Hughes?

I'm almost finished reading XX, and I love how art and graphic design are incorporated into the novel. Are there any other authors who do this?

Most other ergodic books I've seen arrange the words on the page in unusual ways, but don't necessarily take it to a place where it looks like typographic art. I'm planning on reading his other novel, The Black Locomotive, but it would be awesome if there are other authors like him out there too.

Roti out of green mung beans instead of yellow?

I like making roti out of yellow mung beans but sometimes they're expensive and difficult for me to find, but getting green mung beans is much easier. Can I make roti out of green mung beans, do I have to do anything differently besides simply soak them for longer? (And for how long?) With the yellow ones I usually just soak them in hot water for 2 hours then blend them with extra water, a bit of vegetables and spices.

Roasting canned pumpkin?

Normally I deepen the flavour of canned pumpkin puree by simmering and deglazing it in a pan.

I was wondering if I placed the pumpkin puree in a deep dish and roasted it at 350 for a couple hours would I get a similar result?

XX- how bad is the ebook version?

I've been reading a paper copy of XX by Rian Hughes, and so far I think it's something that my grandfather would really like. But he's adamant about only reading ebooks because he can make the type as large as he needs.

I keep hearing people say that the ebook version of XX isn't very good, but is it bad enough to not be worth reading? I saw a few sample pages and while it was less nice it still seemed passable to me- in the sample I saw up to the part with the letters on the fridge.

I heard there are some pdf copies out there that are a bit better, but he really prefers using his library app and I don't think I could convince him to try something different even if I sent him the pdf copy myself.

Should I still recommended it to my grandfather?

Prevent bruising and swelling from dumbbell frog pumps?

I've been getting bruising and a disconcerting looking swelling on my hip bones from doing dumbbell frog pumps. I've tried using a rolled up towel on my hips to help prevent the pressure, but it's not working as well as I'd hoped.

Is there something else I could try to help prevent injury to that area?

Is it possible to keep the bright colours of blended fruit?

I have a fruity pudding dessert that I make by blending berries, banana, silken tofu, ground flax, cashews and a bit of lemon. Right when I make it the colour is really pretty and vibrant, but the next day it looks very dull and almost gray. Is there a way to keep the colour looking nice without using food colouring?

Can I turn lentil pasta into lentil flatbread?

I love lentils, so I thought I would love lentil pasta. But I hate it and still have half a box left.

Another thing I love is lentil flatbread, which I make by soaking dry lentils in water for 2 hours then blending it with some onion, garlic, and spices, then pan frying the batter.

If I soak this lentil pasta in water with some dry lentils do you think it would still work to make the flatbread, or would it come out weird? The only ingredient listed on the box is lentil flour

Halfway progression between single leg v ups and v ups?

I've reached the point where the amount of reps I need to do for single leg v ups is too time consuming and I really need to shorten my routine, but I can't even do one regular v up.

I've started doing boat crunches as my halfway progression, but I'm not really feeling it in my abs as much like with the single leg v ups, which is the muscle group that I want to work the most. Is there a better progression that I could be doing instead, or should I really just stick with the boat crunches?

(I'm doing these exercises on the ground.)

Struggling to finish Priory of the Orange Tree

I absolutely LOVED the first 70% of the book. But the last 1/3rd of the novel is starting to feel like it's lost its momentum and intrigue since the main mysteries have been answered, and is dragging on a little slower than it needs to.

I'm struggling to feel motivated to finish it which is a little sad considering how invested and charmed I was with the first half.

Did you also struggle around the 70% mark? Were you glad that you pushed through to the end?

I've just discovered E.M Carroll with When I Arrived At the Castle and A Guest In the House, and would love to discover more unique sapphic graphic novels that aren't aimed at a teen audience. Do you know of any?

I've been trying everything under the sun to try to get my shaders recompile, and nothing is working.

I noticed that last time a recompilation was triggered was during the last patch, so I wondered if downloaded the dlc would do the same. When you download the dlc, do you recall if the shaders recompiled when you started the game?

Also how are you enjoying the dlc?

I need to delete Tainted Grail's shader cache and have it compile them again, but I'm unable to find the shader cache in either the app data or local app data folder. I've tried looking in Nvidia's control panel but I can't find anything there either. I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game again hoping it would force the game to recompile the shaders but that didn't work either.

Does anyone know if there are any other ways I can do this?

I'm going to be going on vacation soon, and I'm in the mood for a dark and obsessive romance. I will definitely be reading both of these eventually, but which of these two would you say is more romance heavy? (I loved Kat Dunn's previous novel, Bitterthorn)

Or alternatively do you feel that neither of these is romance heavy, and do you have something else to recommend?

I love that she writes thrillers with fantastical elements. I loved The Starving Saints, The Luminous Dead, The Oblivion Bride, and I'm currently halfway through the The Last to Leave the Room. (The amount of different genres she writes feels pretty impressive.)

Have you read any other books that you felt had a similar vibe of fantastical/speculative thrillers that have sapphic characters and a little romance?

Something else I really appreciate about Caitlin Starling is that despite writing mostly horror, her novels so far never include SA which can be hard to avoid in this genre.
