Baby Girl Name Ideas

I am way too early to know if it's a girl or boy. I have a solid list of boy names, but realized I am lacking on girl names!

Some ideas:

Abigail

Avery

Louise

Maxine

Which of these do you like? What middle names fit? What other name suggestions do you have?

I want to avoid very popular names. We have a one syllable, common last name. Sibling is named Phoebe.

Thanks for your input!

Ideas for future baby

I am super early with the pregnancy, but I love thinking of names. I have one child with a sort of classic first name and a middle name inspired by Irish mythology that we love.

For baby #2, if it's a girl, I love the middle name Lilith, as it has the same kind of mythical flair as our first's middle name. I am leaning hard towards this choice. What are some good first names to pair with Lilith?

Boy names have me stumped. Names I like include:

Isaac

Dylan

Nathaniel

Zachary

Pretty much all on the list right now lol.

I need suggestions for both girl names and boy name combos. The "mythical" theme is not necessary, but I like the idea of slightly more fun/out there middle names. Or names with interesting meanings.

Last name is Cook, obviously pretty common name. My side is slavic, the dad's side is Irish/Scottish, so a name that references one of our cultures is a bonus.

I don't like "double noun" names because of our last name. For example I love the name "Ivy" for a girl, but because it's a noun that is not just name, it sounds like she is a cook who specializes in cooking Ivy, or something lol. Same with "April" - cute name but sounds like a seasonal chef.

Also not crazy about alliteration, or a first and last name that have the same "C" or "K" sound, but not completely opposed to it if the right name comes along.

Thanks!

Curious and Procrastinating

Never liked my penmanship, but curious what does it "say" about me? I chose this because it's a natural and real representation, not something I wrote specifically for this sub

Wasps acting weird? Advice needed

Sorry for the poor quality vid - can anyone help me figure out what is happening here?

EDIT: My camera is bad but I managed to get clearer photos that people confirmed ARE wasps. What is happening here??

This is my mom's house, she says these wasps (that's what they are, right?) Have been swarming this can (its an ashtray with cig butts) for the last couple days, and then in the evening a bunch of them move to the porch light, then leave, and restart the process the following late afternoon/evening. The can is sealed and they are only concentrated in that one spot. No visible nest anywhere - but we have not looked that thoroughly. Any input as to wtf is happening, and appropriate steps to deal with them would be great. Thanks

Reset the clock after 85 hours smoke free. 4 weeks pregnant. Need to get back on track.

I am unexpectedly pregnant, found out early, yet to be seen by a doctor. Taking the prenatal vitamins. Stopped smoking cigarettes snd weed as soon as I found out. Also stopped taking my psychiatric meds because they are not considered safe and/or not conclusive about being safe. Drastically reduced caffeine intake.

This is my second pregnancy, I cold turkeyed everything the first time, same as now. I feel like absolute shit that I relapsed, and now I need to go through the first 72 hours of hell again. I am having emotional difficulties, brain fog, and not handling stress well. My life is messy and hard. I need kindness and non judgemental advice. The last time I posted here was when I was pregnant the first time, and I got inexplicably downvoted and shitty comments. Please refrain if possible.

People in my life are basically telling me to keep smoking like they did while pregnant, just "try to cut back" because "the stress of quitting will outweigh the benefits" - obviously not true and I don't want to be this person. I hate that I started smoking again after struggling so hard to quit the first time. My oldest is now 6 and I want my new baby to have the same fair start at life as my first.

It's weird to post screenshots of your private text conversations for internet strangers to judge

I don't use reddit too much, so my feed isn't very curated. Lately I have noticed that I get lots of reccomended posts from subs that are mainly people posting screenshot convos and asking reddit for their take. Often there is context that makes it more justified, but I think it is super weird like 90% of the time to be screenshotting private conversations, with the intention of either asking the internet for advice, or inviting them to make fun of someone. Bad enough if its a stranger, but the worst is people who dump pages worth of intimate, emotional, super personal convos between them and their partner, then ask for advice.

Idc if names are blocked out, I would hate it if anyone I knew inrl did this to me, whether a friend, partner, roomie, tinder date, etc. Because wtf? Lol.

If someone wants advice on their relationship, they can summarize/describe what was said instead of posting full screenshots, which go way too personal.

The exception to that being if the other party consents to their messages being shared. Or if you're legitimately exposing someone for being racist/homophobic/sexist/dangerous/objectively shitty. Otherwise this seems so rude and borderline antisocial to me.

Lots of the times these posts are sharing someone at their lowest, painting them in a bad light. Not to mention that reddit does not have the context outside of the snippet shared, and yet some of these posts hit thousands of views and comments.

Just talk to each other in real life and/or seek therapy (easier said than done, ik, but what is easy is to keep private conversations private).

First Practicum Placement Sure to be Problematic?

I am in Canada and doing a practicum placement in a relatively small rural community where I live, at the local community college.

My interview went okay, but the person interviewing me basically spelled out the fact that the place is a bit of a mess. High turn over and the job itself will require a lot of independence (supervisor will frequently be unavailable) and they emphasised the ability to pivot/multitask while supporting students with complex needs.

I am looking for any kind of advice on how to best prepare myself, as I have no real work experience in the field. Basically it sounds like it's guaranteed to be shit show, but I think that they will take that into account when evaluating my performance. This is the first "mini practicum" for a BSW. I don't really have the option to do another setting, because of the limits in small town learning.
