Scary drawing from child

Scary drawing from child

So I’m an elementary art teacher and I am always getting handed drawings of kids and their families/friends. I received this really lovely drawing from a kindergartner in the beginning of the year. Since it’s summer, I’ve been scrolling through my phone and wanted to share this. It reminds me of the post where that kid drew an imaginary friend. I asked my student who the other girl in the portrait was and she goes “just my friend”.

Anybody else drowning in kids artwork?

My daughter and son (7 and 5) produce literal mountains of artwork. I'm hugely sentimental and love their creativity. Many of their pieces are truly special with delightful back stories.

I can't bring myself to throw it away. I sometimes take photos of it, but this doesn't capture the back story, and also they disappear into my Google photos abyss.

Anyone found a good solution to this? What do you do with your kids creative projects?

“Mama is scared & yellow”

2.5 year old loves to color, & every so often he colors something cohesive & identifiable. I don’t know if it’s actually intentional or he just sees things in his scribbles, but this one feels intentional!

Moana Art Collection

6 year old is very excited about the live action movie coming out soon and she keeps adding to her collection of Moana pictures. Which one is your favorite?

Head of a TMNT or just a regular complete turtle?

Painted by my 2 year old daughter. I saw the ninja turtle first, but my sister made me realize there was a whole actual turtle there.

Our 6yr old daughter. Loves anime and French cartoons

She is watching Ghibli cartoons since she was 2 and recently discovered Rick and Morty. She started to draw comics and learn to write letters. We are so proud of her! Our artist, Greta.
(She made pics no.4 and 5 while she was 5yrs. I also added our all time poopy favorit at number 3 lol)

My daughter sent me this.

She is in 3 class and made this on her chromebook. She called this " Our Future"

My son drew these from memory last Christmas.

Two snowmen in a snow globe and two smiling marshmallows in a cup of hot chocolate.

Toddler logic !!

I introduced painting pretty early and recently brought out watercolours. For fun, I drew a little smiley on the back of my hand and said, “Look! You can paint on your hands too.”
Big mistake.

Now every painting session ends with her proudly colouring both hands and running over to show me like she’s just completed a masterpiece. 😅
At least she’s keeping it to her hands… for now.

Darth Maul

I feel particularly impressed with my sons sketching here.

Edit: Wow.... yet again this subreddit has brought out the vultures. The internet is such a cesspool.

I guess I should feel proud of him that his work is so good that people are questioning if he did it himself by hyperanalyzing his coloring skill vs his line drawing.

No one helped him with this. Frankly I don't have this level of artistic skill lmao. He followed a drawing video for the initial sketch. I also have multiple photos of him drawing it as he was drawing it because I was so impressed with his work.

Edit 2: Alright. This is ridiculous. Any further nasty commentors will be blocked and reported.

I posted my kids art because it brought me joy. Joy to see him lock in and focus so hard on something he loves to do. And do a damn good job. And I wanted to share that with what I thought could possibly feel a bit like a community, hopefully other parents who could relate. But people seem to have the compulsion to be assholes.

To the people who have been kind and came to share a bit of joy, thank you!
