The best body lotion in my 40 years

The best body lotion in my 40 years

I’ve tried a lot of lotions. I found this lotion after trying to find one that wouldn’t break me out (Cerave did break me out). I ran out of this lotion and went back to the little I had left of Cerave, and back to Eucerin I went. My skin has never ever been so soft and Ive only used 1 full bottle. It definitely has to do with the Urea. I was really missing out for far too long!

Instagram hidden MUST-knows for a small business? Please help.

Hello! I’m a licensed esthetician and my mother is as well. We have a family esthetics/spa business that has been open for over 20 years. I took over as the manager about 2 years ago, and it’s only the two of us running things.

I’ve grown our Instagram organically from about 400 to 900 followers, but it feels like it has taken forever. We don’t currently have the budget for marketing help, so I’m trying to learn how to use Instagram more strategically to increase local visibility and bring in new clients.

I know the obvious basics: have a clear bio, post Reels, keep the page visually clean, show your work, etc.

What I’m looking for are the bigger “must-knows” that business owners often miss-the things that actually help with visibility, engagement, local reach, and converting followers into clients.

For those of you who have grown your esthetics/spa business through Instagram, what made the biggest difference? What do you wish you understood sooner?

Thank you!

Garmin Forerunner 265 and Strava maps?

I feel like I keep going around in circles thinking I’ve found a solution but realizing there might not be one! Has anyone with this watch been able to upload a Strava map to their watch/listen to the turn by turn? I have a long run tomorrow and would love to know if this is a thing. Thanks!

Viiu Cantico essenze di assisi

My mom visited Assisi, Italy and gifted me this perfume. I only wear Fischersund No. 8 so this scent is completely different but I admit that it’s growing on me! Has anyone tried it? I wish we could add photos here. Their website doesn’t translate into English…

Strava route upload to Garmin Forerunner or a better way?

Hello! Is there a way to upload my Strava map to my Garmin so I can hear the turn by turn directions on my headphones? Does Garmin have its own mapping feature like Strava does- should I just use that? So far I’ve found some great running routes with Strava but can’t stand looking down at my phone while I run! Thanks all! I am using Runna as well…new to all of this!

Garmin: must have on/off features for training

Hello! What are the must haves for our Garmin Forerunner when we’re training for a HM or Marathon? Mine is set for pace rather than heart rate, I have my HM event entered…wondering if I’m missing key important set up options!

As most of us know and understand, sleep apnea is horrible for one’s health. My loved one has chronic sleep apnea and we just picked up his CPAP machine. He tried it twice and is refusing to wear it. Does anyone have experience with this (We live in the US) and insurance companies? They want him to wear it for 21 days - 4 hours per night. Does his disability wave this requirement? His sleep apnea affects his recovery and symptoms of schizophrenia. Thanks!

I’m looking at Ocean State Ultra in West Greenwich, RI (12 hours) because the date works out for me! Any others you’d suggest for a first? I live outside Boston📍

My brother is 36. Up until December 2022, he lived a very active, productive life. He had his first psychotic episode in 2019 which led to his diagnosis. At that time, we brought him home after a brief hospitalization. The hospital put him on meds that had him drooling and shuffling his feet. He then started working with an excellent psychiatrist who put him on a new medication and vitamin protocol that worked extremely well. He stayed stable on that same regimen for for years-no adjustments needed. Even his long-time girlfriend at the time said he was doing better than she had ever seen in years.

Then his insurance changed, he stopped his medications, and everything unraveled. He had another episode, drove on the wrong side of the road, and ended up in jail for nine months without proper medical care. Our family fought hard to get him out. When we finally did, he was severely malnourished. He was in AZ and we are in MA.

He’s been home now for 35 months, almost 3 years.

Currently he’s on:

Lithium 900 mg

Clozapine 50 mg

Vraylar 3 mg

He has a good psychiatrist and a therapist, but only goes once a month at this point. He is on disability, thankfully that was finally approved and processed.

Here’s where we are now:

He is overweight, extremely unmotivated, and sleeps most of the day. He has severe sleep apnea that we are trying to address, but he refuses to use the CPAP. He does very little around the house, rarely initiates anything, and mostly keeps to himself. He will go on short walks, but that’s about it. I believe he is on the verge of diabetes. (I’m the oldest out of all the kids in my family. He is in the middle).

His self-care is inconsistent. He showers and brushes his teeth occasionally, but not regularly. He doesn’t look completely unkempt, but he’s clearly not taking care of himself the way he should. He also constantly wears a winter jacket-even in warm weather-which feels concerning. He still chatters a lot to himself. He’s aware he’s doing it. He can’t stay in social settings long because he ends up removing himself due to the chatter. If he drinks caffeine- oh boy! He becomes very out of it. He also will only eat red meat and drinks sugary soda. Before his diagnosis he wouldn’t touch soda because of the sugar. I’ve done my research and I know how brain health works and affects those with mental illness. Sugar is a no-no.

I understand that this is part of schizophrenia. I’m not unrealistic about that.

But at what point do we, as a family, say this ISN’T enough?

At what point do we push harder for medication adjustments, a different approach, or additional support?

This cannot be the ceiling for his life. He has had three years of “recovery,” and this doesn’t feel like real recovery-it feels like survival.

I’m looking for insight from others who have been in this position. When did you decide it was time to advocate more aggressively? What actually made a difference? I know that he’s an adult so please don’t comment about this. I know this.

Please do not respond by telling me to leave it be because I am not going to leave it be at this point. I would appreciate comments from those that took action and saw real positive changes in their loved one. Vitamins? Supplements? What worked? Certain kind of therapy? Tell me anything and everything. Please know that I understand every single individual is different.
