So before 8/16…

Who here will watch for the first time, we watch again, or attempt to either case, the 2011 Green Lantern movie, before the release of the show? Theatrical or extended cut.

Getting multiple calls from no caller ID, person says he’s from Homeland security

I’ve been told that this was a scam before, is it still a scam now? It freaked me out, the person knew my name, I didn’t know what they wanted, however, when I hung up on them and it went to the voicemail, I heard them ask each other if they were in their room, which sounds more like that in office call. I don’t know. I just need to know if this is a scam.

Accident on the Harlem/Genesee intersection

Bunch of flashing lights, cops and I believe an AMR; dunno what's happening, but its big to be an accident, though the details aren't anything I know as of now. Dunno if anyone knows.

This isn't a troll post. I hate the negative reaction toward this film. I am not a fan of the Nightmare films, and any exceptions would have criticisms of its own. But this movie isn't that. This was well done, and aside from a couple of bumpy CG examples, it was scary, creepy, and above all, it was Freddy.

That last part, that's something that that makes me like this movie more because of a major issue that affected and created the backlash against the movie. This Freddy was played great by Jackie Earle Haley; what we got here was a more realistic, sinister version, that focused on his history as a child molester. His makeup, he looks like a real burn victim. Englund's makeup is iconic, but its more of a mask. To add, I also liked how there's the possibility that Freddy was innocent before being burned, before the revelation which is twisted in of itself.

So with that praise, you're probably wondering what I meant by a "major issue", well I'll tell you: the real problem with the remake was the fans. Why? Freddy is beloved, and entertaining, and that's not a problem, though it is when you forget what he is. In the OG, he was described as a "filthy child murderer", and fans tend to forget that, especially with the remake. All the remake did was take what Freddy was, and increased those elements; but the Freddy fans know is the one that the sequels invented, which was a fun slasher character. This is an example of when you purposely forget and rewrite history to suit your feelings.

The remake is such a good film, and its a crime that many here don't see that. This should be praised. And yeah, not a fan of the Nightmare films, and this is my #1.

PS any downvotes on this, kinda would prove the points I made.
