Do players ever try to communicate with your monsters?

Hello everyone, I am a new DM, and I start my campaign soon.

I want to make it so that combat is optional for most encounters? Do your players ever try to communicate with your monsters? How can I encourage players to interact with the monsters in a way that isn't immediatly hostile, especially with monsters that may not speak or understand common.

If it helps one of my players is a druid.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Did Ruessel know that Angel got his human soul back?

Okay, so i watched this show when I was a kid, and I have decided to rewatch it. I have never seen buffy the vampire slayer so I don't have all of the context.

I know typically in fantasy settings vampire communities tend to be really tight knit, and are strict on the rules.

So if Russel was following all of the vampire communities rules (if there is one) then its funny to think about how he probably didn't know why Angel was so pissed at him.

Possible strategy for getting both of the new FRVs?

Disclaimer I am not too familiar with how taking planets works, and I dont know how much the community can realistically get done within 3 days. Also this post is long wordy and full of poor grammar.

So the current major order has three days remaining. We're projected to take Basquine in a little over 40 hours.

Karlia is projected to fall to the squids in just a little over 24 hours from now. Which will block our pathway to Sangis.

We could try to take Karlia back but it has a resistance of 2.08. Even with the DSS it would probably take a day and a half to liberate it. Leaving us with not enough time to liberate Sangis. The total resistance we would face is (2.08+1.47) totaling 3.55% per hour.

However, what if we liberated Keid, Shete, then pushed to liberate Sangis the resistance would be (1.00+0.71+1.47) the resistance total would only be 3.18% per hour. Additionally because the resistance on each planet is lower, the planets themselves could be liberated faster.

I know it's probably really unlikely, and hell honestly the new free supply FRV would be enough of a win for me. I'm greedy though, and plus it could make for a cool story moment.

Edit:

I didn't read that we could only get one. I was too busy munching on some orange flavored crayons.

How can I drink more coffee?

I used to be able to drink 1-3 cups of medium roast coffee per day. It was genuinely wonderful and helped immensely with focus and memory. My dosage of antidepressant got raised a while ago, and shortly after that I have only been able to drink a half cup of coffee a day.

Does anyone know how I can drink more coffee a day without lowering the dosage of my antidepressants?

Was the spell that Qifry used against the dragon forbidden? I believe that in episode two, Qifry states that magic designed to harm others is prohibited. Does the spell not count as forbidden because he only knocked out the dragon?
