Prada touch blush- Bow swatch (NOT mauve!)

This is in front of a window in the early evening. How they gonna tell us this is soft MAUVE? This is coral. At least on my complexion. So annoying. I hope they come out with more shades that are truly neutral/mauve because this ain’t it! Maybe Dahlia is more what I was looking for but I don’t typically like cool pink blushes. I’m bummed as I really do love the formula!

Bruno Chaussignand thoughts?

Hi all! I went to get my new glasses adjusted at a cool little boutique in my home city and saw these frames (After 8) on display and fell in love with them. So gorgeous! Tried them on and they fit so comfortably. I of course just shelled out an arm and a leg for the frames I just bought so didn’t get them but immediately added them to my wishlist. I had never heard of this maker and doesn’t seem to be talked about much? Anyone have thoughts or experience with this brand?

Points to burn! Hourglass ambient lighting palette?

Hiii! I have some points to burn and I'm considering the hourglass ambient lighting palette? I've only heard great things about (also from Nikki La Rose who's word is the gospel imho!). I'm 36F with combo skin but always chasing the natural glow of youth as i age lol. I know there's lots of discussion on here on this but just wanted to get thoughts! Or if something else at Ulta is worth using my points on? I know that's subjective to my needs and preferences! I'm not a full beat girly. I am a makeup collector who doesn't wear a ton of makeup haha. skin tint, lip liner, lip stain, blush, brows and that's about it! I've also been considering an LED Mask as i don't own one yet. Thanks in advance! :)

Small restaurant- large party cancellation charge?

Hi all- my husband and I have a small farm to table restaurant in rural Iowa. We stay pretty busy in the summer for where we are but we’re putting out city-level quality food and still hardly get by (as I know this is the same plight for all small businesses right now!). Anyways, the point of this message is that we’re sick of getting last minute large party cancellations and not being able to fill the tables. We do all our reservations and seating charts manually with paper and pencil as we’re small and are always moving tables around to make things work so relying on a reservation platform doesn’t really work for us. If you’re a small restaurant, do you charge parties over 5-6 a deposit in the event they cancel under 24 hours? We didn’t want to have to do this but are now strongly considering it. We can’t afford to lose large parties day of service. Thanks for the insight! Please be kind :)

Anne Valentin vs Matsuda

I ultimately decided on the first pair (Anne Valentin) but I was really torn between 2 and 3 (both matsuda). I have a very strong farsighted rx (+7.75 both eyes). Lmk thoughts! I have credit at this optical shop so I’ll def get a second pair soon and will prob get one of those 2 matsuda frames!

Did I make the right choice??

Hi! I asked for advice a while back here and I was leaning toward the kuboraum p6s but because I didn’t have a way to try the right color on I pivoted. Went to a new shop and tried all these on and went with the first pair (Anne et Valentin Aribos). I was really torn between those, number 2 (Anne Valentin) or the others (all matsuda frames). I have a very high positive prescription (+7.75 in both eyes).

Aggressive Tom Cat attacking my indoor/outdoor cats- RURAL

Hi everyone- My husband and I live in rural Iowa and we have two beloved cats (one of them pictured 😄) that are indoor/outdoor. Before you judge or come at me for letting our cat outdoors, both of them were taken in by us from being stray farm cats so we didn't have much of a choice. We live in the country and that's just the way it ends up. We do our best to keep them from killing wildlife (we have bird collars for them and they rarely get them). Anyways, there's been a feral orange tom cat who has invaded our property over the last 6 months- sleeps in our garage and attacks our cats when they're outside. None of them have been seriously injured luckily besides a little wound on their paw. We have a live trap and are planning to trap it and figure out a TNR near us but i worry about returning it to our property even after neuter as I feel it's just an agressive male cat who is territorial and thinks our garage is his and fights our cats when they go in there. I know relocating is considered cruel, so I guess just looking for advice here.

Thanks!

Anne et Valentin Aribo

Hi! Does anyone own the Anne Et Valentin Aribos? Specifically in the olive or tortoise colorway? I’m trying to decide if I want to order them in place of the Vassia frames I bought and ended up not liking how they look on me. Not finding much in my search of pictures with them on models. Thanks!!

36F stage 3 grade C. So sad and humiliated :(

Hi all,

I’m 36F and have stage 3 perio at grade C. I was told I had it a couple years ago and got one round of SRP and then life happened, lost my insurance at the top of this year (like millions of others) and just put off actually taking care of it until now. I know I’m not alone but I just cried in front of the periodontist in the office yesterday and it just felt so devastating and embarrassing. I’m a nonsmoker, don’t drink soda or eat much sugar/sweets. I have had severe ADHD (diagnosed at 18) so I’ve really struggled to stay on top of a diligent routine in my youth to early adulthood and couldn’t afford regular dentist visits so I guess I’m paying for it now. I have a bit of family history of it too. Mostly just posting here for some assurance all hope is not lost and some advice on sustainable routines/good products I should have. I use a Waterpik regularly, therabreath mouthwash (I realize this probably isn’t my best option), brush twice a day and use an electric flosser (slate). Thanks in advance
