Are these glasses too big for my face? I don’t like their vertical height a lot, horizontal width seems okay.

Are materials different based on where you buy glasses?

Years ago, I bought a nice prescription pair of aviators with glass lenses. They were amazing and lasted for almost a decade. However, when it finally came time to replace them, I learned that you can't get prescription lenses in glass anymore. At least, not from any glasses place where I live. Polycarbonate, or bust. This was disappointing to learn, as my regular glasses have been plastic for years, and they get scratched constantly. But whatever- not much I can do about it.

To keep things simple, I ended up getting the lenses from Walmart. If it's all the same material, no reason to spend more to replace my aviator lenses. Within days, my sunglasses were covered in small scratches. I haven't done anything unusual with them- I've carried them in their Ray-Ban case and in the carrier in my car. My conclusion is that the material used was just extremely soft and prone to scratching.

My question is: did I screw myself by getting the lenses from Walmart? Are all polylcarbonates not created equal, and would I be having less issues if I got my lenses done at a better location? Or are lenses covered in scratches just the accepted standard for glasses today?

Is This “The One”?

Well, I do love trying on different frames, so here are a few others I checked out along the way (because why not): Lunetterie Générale, Entourage of 7, Masunaga One Hundred, and Cutler and Gross 1386 and 1394. That said, I keep coming back to the Dita Grandmaster Nine (pic #1). The comfort, build quality, perfectly balanced weight, and especially that Root Beer colorway just keep pulling me back. It’s a little bolder than my usual understated style and pushes me slightly outside my comfort zone. I have already picked two and added them to my rotation. But definitely have the itch to pick my first higher end one. If I end up pulling the trigger, it’ll be my first real step into the higher-end independent eyewear world.

Trying out new frames

Hello!

I have worn quite a few glasses in my lifetime and recently tried out some new frames. No idea what suits me or what’s a no-go.

Advice greatly appreciated!

Edit: WOW! I absolutely did not expect so many people to comment on here! Thanks for all your opinions (except some of those rude ones grrr). I made up a spreadsheet of everyone's choices and also advice outside of the featured frames (#2 is a strong winner), with that I'll go back to my optometrist and check out some alternatives. Thanks again!

Recommendation on frames — color, size, and shape?

I’m not really sure which shape suits my face best — round, oval, rectangle, or square frames?

Edit: Thanks everyone! But I should have posted this before buying the glasses. I posted this retroactively expecting the consensus to validate my choice (#5) but 😭😭

Round 2 of picking my first pair of everyday glasses ! With new frames

Hi again ! I posted here recently looking for advice on my first pair of glasses and got a lot of helpful feedback. Thanks ! The first pair is the favorite, the second pair is the same but in a different color ! The third pair, the blue bicolor is the second favorite per your feedback. So I went back, tried to retook some photos with better lighting. I also tried on some new frames with the feedback in mind. The glasses from 1 to 6 are from the last round. Then it's new frames !

Would love a second round of opinions especially on whether the new additions are heading in the right direction compared to the first batch. Or if the first glasses are still the winners. Happy to hear blunt feedback again. On the last frame : it looks light green in the photo but was actually a much darker green in store, the side shot shows the real color better !

I'm from India, last changed glass 5 years ago. My power is a +15 and I wear a huge glass. Didn't go to lenskart or titan eye plus. I want to wear light think lens like people with low power wear. Asking people of similar power share image of lens they bought in lenskart or titan

Lenskart has something called ultra think and I want to buy a big frame just don't want to be some guy wesrking coke bottle in his eye. Any suggestions?

Want images from people with similar power how the ultra thin lens look like.

Everyday Pink

Laura Mercier blush in Strawberry
Tower 28 Lip Liner in Draw Me
Kopari Lip Love Moisture Balm in Pink Strawberry

Pink always leans peachy on me but I think these products together get me close to the pinky tone I like!

Not exactly sure what suits me

I love my geometric (anything funky) styles but have always been confused on what suits my face shape the best. Any help would be appreciated. (I’m also interested in finding a pair of sunglasses that suit me)

Was recommended to look at getting different frames

What do you all think?

Both pictures are different glasses but the same frame design

Follow up post: I got the glasses!

My ex told me that he didn't like cat eye glasses and so I got them kind of out of spite lol but these look great and not too big like the comments on my previous post suggested. I'm so happy with these!

I definitely will need to get used to the nose pads, though.

Are glasses ruining my face?

I wear glasses with prism in them so contacts aren’t a great option for me. Though I did wear them anyways for a couple years. I can’t help but feel like glasses make me look substantially worse. I’m almost 31 and I definitely don’t want to look older than I am, which I’m worried glasses have that effect as well. Maybe I picked the wrong frame this year?

Need an unbiased opinion…

Some people have told me clear, some have told me black, some have told me none at all.
I’ve worn clear frames ever since i got glasses but wanted to give black frames a chance, and i’ve never been a fan of contact lenses but am willing to hear them out. No one has ever seen me without glasses so I think i’d look odd to them without so suddenly

Are my glasses a lil wonky on me?

So recently my glasses fell and left a lil crack in em and after that I feel like my glasses look a little askew. Is it true and should I get a replacement pair or a new frame all together?

u/BeetleJooc — 3 days ago

Update: Thanks y’all for the advice. Went with bigger frames after all.

Was lucky to find something in a 62 size. I’ve always wore smaller glasses in my life. Now it’s taken some getting used to haha. Thanks again guys, y’all are amazing!!
