29 year old Industrial Engineer thinking about an Environmental Science career change

Just like the title says, I’m a 29 year old IE in the Tennessee/N GA area. My degree is in Mechatronics engineering but my job for four years has been industrial engineering for a textile company.

Truth be told, I really regret going into engineering/manufacturing and I can’t see myself working in a deeply corporate industrial environment forever. My first passion growing up was always the outdoors, nature, and the sciences.

I’m a naturally curious, exploratory person…The nature of field science has really captivated me for a while. I love the idea of splitting time between collecting samples outside, working on field stations, and then using office work moreso for research.

I might and probably do have a rosy view of environmental science. I just wanted to get some advice if it makes sense for me to pursue a masters in E.S.

I make 83K/year now and live close to the TN river where there are a decent amount of environmental related jobs. I don’t really care about money too much so long as I don’t take a major drop to this salary. I just genuinely can’t do a fluorescent light filled manufacturing office job for the rest of my life.

Any thoughts or advice?

New dropcat 38 owner…Worth getting a Dinghy?

I live in Chattanooga and I like to longboard quite a bit. I love my new dropcat 38 as it’s my first big boy longboard.

I live on a pretty big apartment complex and I usually skate through the parking lot to my car. I’m 28 and don’t really have much use for tricks since I mostly cruise.

Is the Dinghy fender worth buying if I already have the 38? I love my 38 but sometimes it seems a bit much for the parking lot. Id also like a board for just messing around for going around the block.

Also, I’m 5’ 10”, 155 lbs, and wear a size 10 shoe. Dinghy fender worth it?

28 year old newcomer looking to make friends, date, etc.

28M. Went through some major life changes including a breakup earlier this year and needed a change so I I just moved to Southside across from the choo choo hotel.

So far, I’m loving the area! I went to porch fest last weekend and was loving that I can longboard most of the area.

I am still very new though and wanting to meet people my age. I’m mostly flying solo, and don’t really know anyone who lives in city limits. I also don’t really know what the intentional “in person” dating scene is like.

Any suggestions for places that have meetups for people my age and are welcoming to newcomers? I like rock climbing, longboarding, and beer.

Good spots for pickup games

Any relatively safe areas to play basketball pickup in the city?

First time trying a beard stache

1 and 2 are current beardstache, 3 is full beard before

Wasn’t confident enough to go for a full stache so I went for the beard stache. It’s different, but I think I’m gonna keep it!
