Salt brine radishes- is glass weight ok?

Salt brine radishes- is glass weight ok?

Hi all! I am using the recipe below to ferment some watermelon radishes for the first time. I don’t have a glass weight and I couldn‘t find something suitable… except this small glass that fits perfectly into the mouth of my jar! Do you think this is ok? It also eliminates needing to burp the jar.

Dumb question alert: how tf are we watching sports at home?

I haven‘t had cable in over 10 years, but I’m tired of paying out the nose for 16 different stream services to watch Philly sports teams.

If I just care about Philly sports, has the time come to resurrect the cord? Or is there a streaming service under $60/month that I’m missing?

Please send all good vibes for my first brisket

I officially converted late last year. Hosting RH dinner 🍎both nights🍎. Started the brisket last night, and it’s resting in the fridge. I plan on finishing it in the crockpot.

Please send me prayers.

In need of freezer meal ideas

Hi everyone- my 77 year old MIL has Parkinson’s. It has been very hard on my FIL, who is not in great health himself (type 2 diabetes). My husband and I are the only family within 3 hours, so it’s all on us. We have two kids under age 4. It is truly a textbook sandwich generation scenario.

My MIL’s disease is very far progressed, and she has lost a tremendous amount of weigh. I would like to alleviate my FIL’s stress by providing them with some freezer meals in portions for 2. They don’t have and won’t use a crockpot, and they don’t mix meat and dairy (eggs are ok).

Have any of you provided some meals for your loved ones that have been a hit? The more simple the better. I am just grasping at straws trying to figure out something easy that they’ll eat and is easy to reheat.

PHL question: Does anyone know if there are luggage carts to get from departure drop off into the baggage check area?

Traveling with two littles (including an infant) next week, so you know we are not traveling light 🥲 I’ve got the logistics down perfectly once we can check our two heavy bags, but it’s getting from the shuttle into the baggage check area that I’m up a creek without a luggage cart.

Medford Pride was a hit!

Tonight was Medford’s first pride event at Freedom Park. I almost didn’t go because of the weather, but I really wanted to show support. I’m so glad I did- I couldn’t believe the turn out! My kids had a great time. I am looking forward to next year’s event!

While food seafood bags- mostly smoked fish?

For those of us lucky enough to snag a seafood bag from Whole Foods, have you found it’s predominantly smoked fish? I finally got a bag and it was two smoked items , and while it was definitely worth the 3x $9.99, I’m not a huge fan of any kinda cold fish other than the occasional sushi. I’m wondering if it’s worth trying to get one again.

Considering saffron to help with my impatience

Hi all- I am a mother in my late 30s with two young kids (infant and 3 year old). I’ve struggled with depression and anxiety my entire life, but I’ve been doing really well with sertraline and therapy for the past couple years. However, I am really having trouble getting overwhelmed and overstimulated in certain situations, particularly with my 3 year old. I am just so touched out, so tired of repeating myself, the usual exhausted parent stuff. Add going back to work and an infant who isn’t sleeping through the nigh… IYKYK.

I asked my psychiatrist if they felt an increase in my rx could help, and she said maybe if it’s related to anxiety. She also said there may be some evidence that a supplement like saffron could help with mood, as well as magnesium.

Have any of you tried saffron to help with mood specifically for being more patient and less irritable? Or can you recommend something else? I already take magnesium glycinate every night.

When do the oxytocin sleepies stop?

I know that breastfeeding releases oxytocin, which makes you sleepy. What I don‘t understand is how long this effect goes on. With my first child, I don’t remember this sleepy feeling past the first week. My son is almost 5 months old, and I’d say half of our nursing sessions I find my eyes getting so heavy.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Retail brand: Olive & June

I wish I read the Olive & June reviews on here first. I has a great experience with their “impress” style sticky tabbed nails a few months ago. I got the glue on type and OUCH. Do I cut my losses and remove them now, or hope they somehow hurt less in the morning? 🥲

edit: thanks, everyone! I’m trying to take them off now. It’s taking forever ugh!!
