I get the most horrendous jolting shock nerve pain from my lower left abdomen up to my neck. I’m one week out. I’m nervous of it not resolving over time. Just looking to hear experiences to help calm myself. I already had to have two nerve blocks over the last month in hospital and the most recent one is beginning to wear off and my god the shocks are unbearable :(

I’m day 6 post surgery. Doctors want me to start alternating between Tylenol and Advil. I’m concerned because of the anti inflammatory effects of Advil (they were the ones telling me not to use Advil but when I complained about still having a lot of pain and constipation they’re worried I’m still taking so much oxycodone and want to wean me off it, which I understand, but I don’t want to risk my surgery failing as a result..)

Asking for experiences with using NSAIDs after surgery and if so how soon and do you think it had and effect on your adhesions?

ETA: forgot to mention Tylenol doesn’t work on me so I need to take something along side it for pain control

5 days out from surgery and so frustrated. I spent a month in hospital after a failed mechanical pleurodesis just to end up with a tension collapse and then went back in for talc and mechanical. The whole 3 weeks beforehand I had an extremely painful chest tube that hurt so bad

Ever since surgery I just have the worst nerve pain all the time. But the worst is when I sit down- sometimes I get the most intense shocking pain in my lower abdomen that’s blinding and has me collapsing on the floor. PLEASE tell me this doesn’t last forever???

4 days out from my VATS re-do with talc and mechanical (mechanical failed a month ago)

Honestly still feel like total crap and still taking heavy painkillers but then again I am sensitive to pain. The worst is that I love fizzy drinks but can’t have them right now because the hiccups and burps give me the most horrible pain. When does it start to get better? I miss my La Croixs lol

Basically I have a lung that just cannot get itself back up and we’re now 3 weeks out from surgery and it’s clear that mechanical failed, so we’re now looking at me getting another round of VATS to do chemical (talc)

I’ve seen a study online that concluded that a person who has multiple pneumothoraxes, especially multiple within a year, is more likely to develop lung cancer (it was like 12.95 per 100k people vs 7 per 100k for people who don’t get pneumos). I’m nervous bc I do have family history on both sides of lung conditions: my aunt recently passed from COPD, my uncle died of lung cancer, and my great uncle on my other parents side died of emphysema. All three were decades-long heavy smokers, and I don’t smoke. But getting the talc makes me nervous due to my family history nonetheless given how difficult it can make future surgeries in that area.

Anyone got anymore information on this + are there any other conditions or cancers that SPs make you more prone to?

I’m supposed to attend my best friends wedding in India this winter. After spending 15 days in a hospital following a total collapse where my mechanical pleurodesis only half adhered to my lung, my doctor is now sending me out with a small tube in me to allow the small to moderate pneumothorax to heal instead of just giving me talc like I asked for. So now I’m going to have crazy anxiety the entire trip (assuming my lung doesn’t collapse again too soon to the wedding and I’m officially banned from attending).

Realistically am I stuck in India if it were to collapse while I’m there? I don’t even want to think about a collapse happening while in the air - just hoping the bottom half of my lung is adhered well enough that I could at least hopefully make it through the rest of an international flight to receive medical care

Well, it’s going to happen. Currently 14 days since I had a total collapse and despite VATS with mechanical and wedge resection AND a blood patch my air leak persists 9 days later. Two attempts to remove me from suction that resulted in major collapses. So mechanical failed.

Which chemical is viewed as “better”? Which one did you have and how did it go/how are you doing now? Thank you in advance

So frustrated and feeling defeated rn. I’ve been in the hospital almost 2 weeks now with a chest tube, and 7 days out from VATS with wedge resection and mechanical pleurodesis. They’ve tried two times to take me off suction and both times my lung majorly collapsed, so they finally said today that the pleurodesis failed. They’re trying this blood patch as an alternative to getting chemical pleurodesis as they said it’s very painful and makes the lung very tight against the wall.

I’m scared and just so tired of pain at this point, but I’m hoping so much that this finally does the trick. Anyone else had this? How bad was the pain and how long did it last?

Many times I’ve considered going NC, finally did it for good after she tried to make our grandmother die alone and wanted to press fake charges on me. Me, my sister, and my niece all cut contact. My mother wrote several nasty letters calling us slurs, making horrible comments relishing about very sensitive, horrible things that happened to us, hoping my husband cheats on me lol, calling my sister ugly, bragging about removing us from their will, bragging about closing my nieces college fund and about giving the car that my grandma expressly stated was for my niece to my moms opportunistic cousin who plays nice to her in exchange for money, and giving all the money to two other kids with the rule that none of the money can be given to us. Oh, and calling me a liar over the abuse I suffered from an ex that she’s in love with. And a LOT more of the nastiest stuff I’ve ever seen a person say. Oh, and when she tried to make our grandma die alone, she stopped me at the door to tell me about the fake charges she’d be pressing, told me she hated me and that she was “a better person than you because I have $5M currently” and had a smug look on her face as she told me I couldn’t be there to watch my grandma die. My sister had to calm her down to let me be there for my grandma. Also earlier that day my horrible stepdad came in screaming in front of my dying grandmother that she was a “f****** b****”, told us horrible things, and then when the nurse came to declare her passing we heard him and my mom outside laughing with her. So much more I could write about these two vile demons who deserve to get hit by a bus, frankly. But I’ll save my thumbs the extra energy.

I’m free, finally. Took 30 years. My sis and I got to grandma just in time to hold her hand 5 minutes before she passed. I’m free. It’s over. Good riddance.

They’re currently running a full electrical diagnostic on it. We literally just bought this over Memorial Day weekend, have barely driven it too since we were gone the last 8 days on vacation. Go to open the trunk to take our bags out at the end of a long journey home and it attempts to open, makes a noise like something is trying to rotate, and then shuts again. Doesn’t matter which method we use to attempt to open/shut the lift. Also the next morning it opened but then when trying to close it the car made a beeping noise and stalled. We looked at everything we could find online, no solve unfortunately so we took it in.

I’m pessimistic bc I read all of the horror stories of people having crazy electrical problems right off the bat with their brand new Hyundai and the issues never getting truly resolved. This is certainly not a good start as someone who’s used to Toyota reliability who decided to take a chance on Hyundai bc I really loved the Tucson. Anyone else got experience and wanna talk me off the ledge..lol. Or commiserate

It’s been days now of videos simply not loading or freezing up midway through, I gave up on the app today bc it’s now completely not working for the last 5 minutes.

Comments either don’t load or the images won’t show. I get this “no internet connection” error constantly.
