Beyond the Panels, My Dream to Empower Disabled Kids Through Animation & Comics [OC]

"Nico and the Power of Mind” isn’t just a story—it’s the spark for a bigger mission. My dream is to launch a non-profit that builds up disabled children by putting them directly into the action. Imagine a weekly series where these kids see themselves as the heroes alongside custom cartoon characters.

I’m fighting for my life, but I’m also fighting for this dream. Check out the video to see the vision, and if you’re a creator or a fan who believes in the power of representation, I’d love your support. ✨

Concrete Proof of the 'Power of Mind'

Sharing a quick moment of personal history that shifted everything. This photo captures one of my steepest literal and metaphorical climbs: getting down multiple flights of stairs on forearm crutches, freshly post-seizure from a medication reaction. The exhaustion was real, but the 'Nico' in the illustration on the right represents the spark that kept me going—the unbreakable belief that the mind can move mountains (or at least move me). For anyone in this sub fighting through an 'impossible' day, just remember: you're built different, and your mind is powerful!

May is Lyme Disease Awareness Month, but for those of us living with the chronic stage, every day is a battle for recognition. I’ve lost my ability to draw and much of my independence because of a lack of timely treatment. We shouldn't have to fight the system while we're fighting the disease. Please watch and share to help us validate Chronic Lyme. Knowledge is power. 🌲💪

⚠️ TRIGGER WARNING: This video contains footage of a convulsion fit (person shown under a sheet). ⚠️

Your mind is the most powerful thing in the universe. 🧠

For 26 years, I’ve been in a battle with late-stage neurological Lyme disease. It hasn’t been easy, and there have been moments that look like the beginning of this video. But even in the hardest times, I found a way to turn adversity into something positive.

I started creating to stay strong, and that’s how Nico and the Power of Mind was born. This comic book is for every child who feels "different." I want you to know that your disability isn’t a liability—it’s your superpower.

No matter what you're walking through, remember that you are a warrior. Keep climbing, keep dreaming, and never forget how powerful you truly are. 💪🌟

One man. One mission. Endless heart. I’m building a nonprofit to empower disabled kids through animation and storytelling. Help a DIY creator turn a lifelong dream into a reality for those who need it most. ✍️✨

Sometimes the hardest climbs aren’t just physical—they’re mental. After a seizure left me relying on crutches and facing a daunting set of stairs, I realized that the mind is the most powerful tool we have.

I spent two years bedridden, but I didn’t let that stop the creative spark. Today, I use my art to show kids that their disability isn't a liability—it's a superpower. We all have a "Nico" inside us, capable of incredible things when we tap into the power of the mind. 🧠✨
