I live in Melbourne and I consider myself to be centre left when it comes to political views and largely align with policies on the left.

One thing that confuses me though is crime, especially in Vic. We’ve seen horrific news after news of stabbing, home invasions, unprovoked attacks, robberies, gang violence…the list goes on and on!

And yet the Labour Party in Vic refuses to get tough on crime and refuses to enact new laws to tackle youth crime. And I just don’t get it!!

People like me are genuinely worried about their safety nowadays and what’s more worrying we see that there’s no accountability any more. Police catch the criminals and yet the judges give them bail and give them soft punishments. So there’s no deterrence any longer!

So my question is - why does the Labour Party not try to tackle violent crime? Do they really think they will get more votes if they don’t tackle crime?
Are there people who don’t want Labour to tackle crime??

Genuine question because I’m baffled as to why they dont introduce new laws to end this madness! I must be missing something

Maybe this is a controversial opinion, but I’ve had my car for 3 weeks now, and I still can’t find a comfortable seating position. Every time I get in I have to constantly adjust the seat as I’m driving and I start having lower back pain. I’ve tried so many combinations of lumbar, height, seat recline etc, but it’s still not comfortable. Just wondering if anyone else also finds the seats not very comfortable?

This was my week dealing with Zeekr Essendon and SG Fleet.

Monday (22 June): 

• Got a call from Zeekr Essendon fleet team saying my car (7X Performance Black Edition) is ready for delivery. Booked in pick up for this Sunday 28 June. She said she would send an email confirmation along with the invoice.
• Called our delivery coordinator at SG fleet to let them know that my delivery is booked. She said she has emailed the sales guy at Zeekr asking for the invoice but haven’t received it yet.
• Didn’t get an email from Zeekr all day, so I called the fleet team again at 4pm, the same lady picked up and promised she will send the invoice and delivery confirmation at the end of the day.

 

Tuesday (23 June): 

• No email confirmation yet from Zeekr
• I texted the sales guy at Zeekr saying SG Fleet delivery coordinator has emailed him asking for the invoice. He said he hasn’t received any email from SG Fleet. I jumped on a call with him and he said he doesn’t know what information they need and he asked me to follow up with them.
• I called SG Fleet asking what they need. They said they need the invoice to make payment and if we don’t get it by Wednesday, then the bank won’t be able to clear the funds by Friday which would then delay the delivery.
• So I sent an email to both the sales guy at Zeekr and SG Fleet on the email asking them to get in touch with each other and sort it out.

Wednesday (24 June): 

• The delivery coordinator at SG Fleet asks the sales guy to provide the invoice and copies me on the email.
• I send a text message to the sales guy telling him to check his email and send the invoice to SG Fleet.
• He responds telling me he’s forwarded the email to his fleet team to follow up and to let him know if I don’t hear back by 2pm.
• At 3pm I tell him I still haven’t seen the invoice
• He responds saying a new person in his team will send it to me ‘soon”

Thursday (25 June):

• No email yet, and I’m now tired of this nonsense so I don’t bother to follow up
• At 4.30pm I decide to try one last time and I call the Zeekr fleet team. A new person picks up and I explain that I haven’t got the email confirmation or the invoice. She sounds surprised that I haven’t received the email and tells me she will send it soon.
• Finally, after a few minutes I get an email with the invoice and delivery confirmation. I forward the invoice to our delivery coordinator at SG Fleet and ask if they can make the payment asap.

Friday (26 June):

• No news from SG Fleet, so I call them to confirm they’ve received the invoice. Someone takes a message and says they will get back in touch.
• 5pm, some new person calls and tells me the delivery coordinator is on sick leave and she hasn’t forwarded the invoice to anyone else. So I resend the invoice to this new person.
• The new person says they will check the invoice and try to make the payment asap.
• He then calls back and says the invoice includes an additional $2500 for the charger which was not on the original invoice and he would need to get finance approval again.
• I call our sales guy at Zeekr to confirm and he tells me the $2500 is not for a charger, it’s for the delivery fee and the regular cables that come with the car
• I call SG Fleet back and let them know. They said they will have to get new finance approval which will not happen this week.

So now I’m not sure what’s going to happen but I honestly can’t be bothered. The amount of hand holding I have to do to sort out the mess between these 2 companies is ridiculous. To be frank, SG Fleet has been pretty accommodating, but the service at Zeekr Essendon has been absolutely horrible. 

So the delivery is still booked for Sunday, but I have no idea if the payment is made or not, so I’ll call tomorrow morning to confirm if I can pick up my car or not. 

What a sad way to end the week in what should have been a very exciting week anticipating the delivery of our new car.

Hey everyone, so after almost 3 months of waiting the day has finally come for me to pick up my black edition 7x, and I’m super excited.
I was looking for a delivery checklist to run through on the day. I know there’s probably tons of generic checklists out there, but I was wondering if there were any Zeekr 7X performance specific ones, especially items on the checklist that we should watch out for that are specific to this car?

So I decided to buy a Zeekr 7X Performance Black Edition via novated lease and take advantage of the fbt discount. Went through my wife's employer who is locked with a very large NL company (not sure I can name them here?).
Anyway, this is my first NL ever, and they've not been very good so far explaining how the lease works, how I should make claims etc.

But we've made the application, finance is approved, and they sent the purchase order to the dealer...but for the wrong model. They've sent the PO for the Zeekr 7X Performance in Onyx Black as opposed to the Performance Black Edition (which is a different model).

The NL lease agreement doesn't state the correct model either and I've been calling the NL company for the past 2 days, left messages, sent emails, but they've not responded. Getting tired of this and now I'm wondering if I this is normal?

I've never bought a new car before, always bought second hand. For the first time in my life, I've ordered a new car, expecting delivery in a couple months.

According Consumer Affair Vic, once you sign the contract you have a 3 day cooling off period. However if you accept delivery of the vehicle, then you lose the cooling off right.

My question is when I go to accept delivery of my new car, if I'm not happy with it then how do I reject delivery? By then I would already have signed the contract and the car would be registered to me.

Has anyone ever rejected delivery of their vehicle? I know this happens quite a bit in the US, but not heard of it here.

I have a 10year old Hyundai Elantra in great condition that I will be selling shortly as I’ve ordered a brand new car. I used to live in NZ before where I’ve sold a few cars of mine, but never in Australia so I have a few questions.

- In Victoria we need a certificate of worthiness which I believe only lasts 30 days. So should I get one and then put the car on sale? Or should I get the certificate only when I have a firm offer? That way I won’t waste money on getting a new cert if it takes more than 30 days to sell.

- I’m trying to be safe when selling the car privately, as I’ve heard stories about people stealing cars when they come to see it. So should I put it on Facebook?

- Should I give people my personal address to come view the car or meet at a public place?

- In NZ, the norm was to take their car keys and give mine for them to test drive. Is that the same here? Or should I go with them on the test drive? How long should i give them for the test drive?

- my car is probably worth somewhere between $10-$13k, so should I just use one of those car sales websites like auto flip or sellmycar? Or since it’s not too expensive should I just sell it on Facebook or carsales?

- my insurance only covers me. So should I ask them what happens for the test drive?

Any other advice would be great!

Ordered my 7X black edition, apparently will be getting it in June (hopefully).

Want to make sure I have everything ready for it in the first week after delivery, so keen to know what dashcam to get and any recommendations in Melbourne?

I believe it doesn’t have dashcam capabilities like Tesla does, so will have to get an external one
