Team up for Hacklanta?

Hey! I've got an invite for Hacklanta, but I don't have a team yet. If you're in the same boat, lets connect and see if we'd like to do the hackathon together.

About me:

Grad student for computer science/cybersec

Trying to play to win.

Most likely will focus on an AI native flutter build.

Have not finalized the path yet (Ideally we decide together)

Anyone still looking for a team at HackGT?

I was selected and I’m going but my friends said they’re only going for the vibes. And it is my first hackathon and I’d like to do it seriously.

Anyone want to team up?

Depressed because can't find housing

Everyone got housing cheap and nice. 700-1000 and i am too late now it seems like. Tried posting on facebook. Tried talking to people. I don't know where to go anymore. Will be studying at gsu and trying to stay close to it but that also comes with risks. I want to cry 😭

Urgently require a contact in the Spanish Embassy Islamabad

Long story short: i applied for a digital nomad visa at the spanish embassy 10 months ago. They notoriously do not take calls or respond to emails. I have a US embassy appointment for my masters student visa in a week. And the Spanish embassy is not responding to my withdraw request or returning my passport + original documents.

Please if anyone has any contact in the embassy or the diplomatic enclave, help me, i will be forever indebted 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

The problem is me

Everyone i know, every social interaction I'm in. I find a reason to hate people. Yes most people here are seriously toxic. By here i mean Lahore. But generally in Pakistan too. But if others are getting along and I'm the only one who can't digest the two faced, back biting, pretend games, then it must be me who is the problem. And it's not like it helps me.

I end up alone every time. Every single time. And it hurts like hell. Being alone sucks! But you all suck worse.

Every single post here has less upvotes than the first comment (which is usually a roast). Which is not about the upvotes, it is about putting others down. Y'all enjoy hate and leg pulling. It is seriously disgusting how deeply engrained it is in our people. What would it take for you all to stop being crabs for once and actually be positive and supportive to others? Or is that a eutopian dream at this point?

Let's Dissect the Lahori thirst problem once and for all

Every single hour, this subreddit is spammed by thirsty Lahorias literally begging for some woman to talk to them.

I want us to deliberate together to come up with a solution to this problem.

In my opinion, there's mutiple roots to this:

  1. 99% of men have very bad hygiene and grooming. They don't bother about how their breath and scent affects other people. When they don't get anyone in real life, they have to run to reddit to shoot their shot.

  2. Men are unable to stop feeding cannon fodder to their thirst in the form of instagram models and whatnot. Which further reduces their confidence to approach pretty women irl.

  3. Men cannot go two sentences into a conversation without letting it go dirty. This creates a vacuum because women start generalizing.

Proposed solution:

  1. Men need to up their game. Grooming, gym and hygiene. These are bare minimums.

  2. Men need to create fake female accounts to catch the thirsty ones before they slip into someone's dms.

  3. Women need to stop giving hype and clout to toxic af a**holes because that feeds the cycle.

Thoughts?

Looking for a Dota troupe in Lahore!

I have about 3.5k hours and I'm a support primary. I can play 3,4,5 and sometimes carry as well. My support hero pool is very diverse.

I'm looking for people who would like to play ranked together. Frequency doesn't matter, even over the weekends is good as long as we play consistently. And I'd like to do game reviews together and help each other out in improving gameplay. I'm guardian/crusader now. Pushed at some point up to Archon only playing support. But now uncalibrated for a while. If y'all need a +1 in your party, count me in. I'd love to join!

I truly believe that Lahore suffers at the hands of a clique culture.

People are uptight and unwilling to give a chance to new folks. People here are also very territorial and tend to be possessive about their social circles. This is our default setting it seems like and it leads to the majority of people around here feeling socially isolated.

There's also an excess of low quality, shallow, tunnel-visioned individuals here which kind of justifies the lack of comfort people feel about new friends.

I for one do feel the repercussions of this and I feel somewhat isolated at the age of 27. I would love to talk to y'all, have some coffee or some food together, maybe even go for a run. I would love to join any community driven sports or activities like padel, squash or tennis. I'm into running, cafe hopping, food and I work as a CTO at a Software house. DMs Open!
