New iPad Mini. Questions on ergonomics and hardware updates.

I have the latest iPad Pro 13”, iPhone Pro Max, and really needed a device to focus on my (thankfully) newfound desire to read more books. While I prefer paper, it’s just not always feasible.

I debated between Kindle and comparable e-ink displays. While I liked the simplicity and e-ink features, I didn’t like the idea of being locked into Kindle ecosystem or a half-assed UX of importing book files I already purchased. Apple’s software has made it seamless to use.

My two questions having just purchased a new Mini today:

  1. How are you making the device (while more ergonomic than any other iPad) more so as an ereader? For example, a PopSocket.

  2. While I am still in the 14-day return window, is it worth returning the device and coming back in October with the news of a hardware upgrade?

Thoughts on the above and anything else are much appreciated. As I mentioned, I already have the Pros in both 13” iPad M5 and iPhone Max. Neither work for me because either too large or too many notifications. The Mini would be a dedicated reader.

What is the most unhinged/unethical way to lie on your LinkedIn and Resume

For further context, I’m not asking for advice. It’s more so to start a conversation. I’ve been promised multiple things in my tech career (IPO! Unlimited time off!) only for none of it to happen. I had a thought about if they can lie, why can’t I. If they do a background check and find out I didn’t do XYZ at XYZ company, then move on to the next one. It’s not like their lying is anymore ethical than yours.

What were your must haves in rehab (books, journal, etc)

Heading for a 28 day in a few days. Curious what anybody believes are ‘must have’ items to pack. Assuming no digital technology.

Madden 26 Issues

Anybody else keep getting connectivity problems during H2H (multiplayer) gameplay? I tested my network and other games. Everything seems to be fine. Curious if anybody else has similar issues and any settings they may have tuned to get around this.

Authentic Turkish Food in the City? What’s good here?

I’m not talking white napkin/fine dining. For some reason my TikTok algorithm has been feeding me Turkish street food. think skewers and pita over an open fire. is there anything comparable here?

Network Connectivity Issues

Anybody else? I run the network test and I’m at 400 Mb download and 100 mb upload. But when I play multiplayer games like Madden 26 I keep getting “network reconnecting” notifications and it messes up my gameplay.

For reference I am on WiFi and know I should be wired. But still, I can stream 4K movies no problem. What gives?

I have PS5 PRO and iPad Pro. Is Portal a better experience vs Remote Play and native controller.

Honest question — I want to get the Portal but between the native controller, the Bluetooth and graphics of iPad Pro M5, is it worth getting a Portal? I like the idea of it being an all in one system. But the lack of Bluetooth support for headphones turns me off. Ironically they are Sony headphones, but not PlayStation. Curious if anybody else has or had a similar setup and the benefits and trade offs.
