Recommendations what finish to use on an old solid wood door.

Hello all, wanted to ask on some recommendations on what finish to use for an old solid wood front door. My house was built in 1936 and I’m not sure if the door is just as old or was replaced at a later year but it definitely needs some love. For reference the door is in full exposure to the sun for quite a few hours of the day. So the finish needs to have UV protection. I’ve read that Marine-Grade Spar Finish is the best for this application but was wondering if you guys recommend any particular brand and if there is anything specific I should be aware of while using this type of finish. I love woodworking and built some simple furniture and done some staining and finishing but never used Marine-grade finish, just oil finish and polyurethane. What brand is the best for this type of project and would you recommend a sealer? See attached photos of the door. My last question would be: is this something I should be attempting on my own or should I leave this to the professionals? I heard that I might not be able to close the door for over a day while it dries so I’m a little bit concerned about that part. Thanks in advance!

Gun safe box for home and transportation.

Hi all, new gun owner in need of advice. A couple of weeks ago I decided to purchase my first gun. I posted in this community about what gun to buy as a first gun owner for home security. You guys were amazing and gave me all kinds of advice and information on what to get, also recommend getting gun safety classes. I did get a 4 hr gun safety class where I got to shoot about 10 different handguns and I’m signing up for an intermediate class soon. I ended up purchasing Smith and Wesson M&P M2.0 full size, just felt good shooting this gun, I’m currently on the 10 day waiting period and I should have by next week.

Now to my question, what safe box would you recommend for home storage? Something that will fit my gun, two magazines and perhaps some important documents.

Also what safe box would you recommend for transportation, as I’m planning to go practice at a shooting range pretty often for now till I get comfortable with my gun.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Question for Scrambler 400X or 400XC owners

Hello All, for a while I’ve been looking at the scrambler 400 XC. but can’t decide if 400cc is enough power for every day city use and a bit of off-road from time to time. So I wanted to ask people that own one how they like it? For reference I own a 2016 street twin 900cc which I love but sometimes I wish I could go on some off-road adventures. Is the 400X or XC comfortable for longer rides (maybe like 4-5 hrs or so) is 400cc power enough for highway speeds and off-road? I know they have a scrambler 900cc but I really dislike how the exhaust pipe goes thru the middle instead of the lower end, I just looks weird to me. Any input would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

New to gun ownership

Hello all, just want to introduce myself to this group and ask for help/information about gun ownership. I’m 47 yrs old, never owned a gun, live in California and I’ve been thinking about getting my first gun for home safety. My question is, what gun do you guys recommend for home safety? My father in law (a retired Chicago cop) recommended me to get a 9mm. He is from Chicago and does not know what Gus are CA approved. What 9mm CA approved would you recommend? Also since I’ve never bought a gun and I’m not sure about the process, when you go to a gun store do some gun stores have a shooting range where you can try the gun before purchasing it? Or is that not a thing and you have to buy it before trying it? Thanks in advance for your help.
