13 applications, 9 interviews, 0 offers as a first year. What’s the plan now?

As the title says. For a lot of those positions, I was beaten out by someone with a lot more experience. The position I most wanted was taken by a candidate with 23 years of experience.

I’m currently working auto parts delivery for $12/hr. Absolutely no relevance to what I’m certified in and what I want to teach. Where do I go from here?

Sunday League Team Name

Hey all, me and my mate have created our own Sunday league team in a local league. We did all the recruiting, coaching, and everything else we could. At this point, we want to change our team name.

Our team’s name currently is Black Lightning FC. We want to change it as my mate chose the name but now doesn’t like it, and we want it to not involve a color so we can wear different colored jerseys.

He specifically wants a team name that sounds cool/scary, like one that an opponent would look at and think “they sound like a tough team.” Any ideas, including humorous ones are allowed.

A bit about our team that you can play off of: all but one player on our team is tall. We lost every game last season and got relegated. We actually all have high spirits despite losing every game. Anything else you would like to know, ask and I’ll answer as best I can.

Turning green skittles from green apple back to lime was a terrible mistake

I haven't met a single person that believes what I believe, and that is that the green apple flavor for skittles was great and much better than the original lime. While I still enjoy skittles and the lime flavor, green apple was so much better and I hate that they took it away.

Since I was a kid, green apple was one of my favorite flavors of anything. Laffy Taffy, Jolly Rancher, and virtually every candy under the sun. Skittles were no exception, from the time I was 10 to the time I was 18 with green apple. It's no longer and I can't forgive them.

Going on a first date today, how to vet if she wants/doesn’t want kids?

Hello all! Today I have a date planned with a girl I’ve been texting for almost two weeks. It’s a pretty simple lunch date at a moderate sit-down restaurant. Obviously, there are non-negotiables in relationships, one being kids.

I don’t want to bring up heavy subjects on the date (I know and have heard it can turn people off) but I do also want to see if it’s worth continuing a relationship, as I don’t want to fall for her and then a few months or a year down the line find she wants kids and then I’m absolutely devastated.

Simply put, how do I find this out without changing the mood heavily? Do I ask in a roundabout way? Do I be direct and risk losing her, even if she doesn’t want kids? How do I approach this?

Edit: I did NOT meet her on a dating app. I met her IRL, gave her a piece of paper with my number on it, let her know she was attractive and asked her to reach out if she would like. I then immediately walked away. We have been texting since, and it has been just under 2 weeks.

!UPDATE: we did talk about it and she said while she’s still figuring things out (works upwards of 70 hours a week and applying to med school) she has 3 ways that it could go.

  1. Her husband is a stay at home dad, but only if he REALLY wants kids (so this option is eliminated if I’m the husband)
  2. She doesn’t have kids at all, and she did note the stress of kids is a factor
  3. She stays single and raises two kids on her own

(if we remain together this option is eliminated but don’t know at this point)

So while not completely indicative that she’s childfree, I don’t feel too hopeless. I will continue to feel the situation out, but keep that she may want children in the back of my mind.

Also, I did let her know I don’t want kids, and that I’m snipped after she stated what she wanted. We are still talking currently, which is a good sign but I would’ve preferred a more concrete answer today.

Hello members of r/FordExplorer ! Long time lurker, first time poster. I purchased a used 2014 Ford Explorer Limited with the 3.5L engine back around 6 months ago with 139k miles. It has since gained 3.5k, to 142.5k miles. I tend to drive cars into the ground before buying a new one (had a 2009 Subaru Forester before this with far too many problems) and was wondering what the most cost-effective option is. I recently started a new job and would be able to afford around $600/month in car payments. I have been meticulous about maintenance and it seems to have a reasonably average maintenance history before I had it. By meticulous I mean I have had time bombs replaced (water pump) and do routine topping of fluids every two months, as well as doing my first and planning to do my oil changes every 3k miles. About how long can I reasonably get this car to run, and would it be the most effective to squeeze every mile out, or trade it in at a certain mileage while it still has some value? At this point, not entirely sure what the best move is, so I'm looking for any input available.

Thanks in advance!
