Finally with the frother

Finally with the frother

Used the OutIn LattoGo, and finally dialed in the creamy silky texture. Maybe less thick and I can do also a rosetta

Built an omni remote-control that works on Claude CLI

Hi everyone, these ten days I worked on this project called `claude-omni-rc` to run an equivalent of /remote-control of Anthropic models on Claude CLI on Telegram. I mainly use Ollama with it, but you can also use others and Anthropic models.

It uses tmux, telegram SDK and some controllers for deterministic stuff.

What I missed from Claude Code was the `/remote-control` functionality. Sometimes I need to leave and I couldn't continue my sessions. Now I just open the session via the built-in command `omni-rc <session name>`, and when I need to leave, I just open Telegram and continue from there.

You can also start headless sessions. And if you don't open via `omni-rc` (it's just a script that setup everything with tmux), you can still see Claude CLI sessions in read only.

Now this version (v0.5.0) is pretty stable, but I'm continuing to update it when I find bugs or interesting features to implement.

If you have any ideas to implement, you can open an issue on GitHub, and if you like it, you can leave a star, thank you :)

P.s.: yes, you can setup stuff like Hermes Agent with Telegram, but yhis project is entirely a different thing. With Hermes Agent you need to setup a sandbox, since it's pretty a general-purpose agent. What I made here is strictly attached to the session, and your PC needs to be running in order to make this work, otherwise it cannot communicate with Telegram servers and Ollama itself.

GitHub: https://github.com/ontech7/claude-omni-rc/

(if someone of you are wondering: yes, I did agent coding for developing this project, there is literally the Claude signature there, even if I used deepseek-v4-flash to develop it. Otherwise I wouldn't be here in this sub)

My review of LattoGo🥛

Hello community ☕

Thanks to the iniative of OutIn, I received this frother I always wanted to try. I'm an owner of Lelit Elizabeth V3, so I always brew coffee and froth milk from there. But when I'm not at home, especially to my parents home, I bring my OutIn set, and they also enjoy it via capsules when we are at the sea.

During these days I was using a cheap frother bought on Amazon for making the milk, but it was a mess. Really bubbly, I couldn't taste the coffee behind it. My mouth was fubble of foam. Not enjoyable.

This morning I finally tested the one from OutIn. The different in design is pretty clear, it has a different head that can produce really small bubbles, if done correctly. I didn't master it yet because it needs practice, and the correct amount of milk. But for now I'm happy with the result. No latte art, but the milk was pretty think, and finally I could taste the chocolaty blend coffee I'm brewing.

One day I will probably post on r/latteart a tulip and people will not know that I used this frother instead of the professional steam wand of my machine 😆

When I go back home and I can make a video of it (hoping also to gain more experience), I will publish on my project website and instagram ☕

Thank you OutIn for this opportunity. If someone has suggestion for making a better creamy milk, I'm open! I used 130mL this morning in a 330mL jug.

Different temperatures with different portafilters [Lelit Elizabeth V3/DF54]

Hello,

I received a bottomless KNODOS portafilter 58mm (E61) two days ago, and I noticed that the temperature of my cup is higher when using it. If I use the stock portafilter of Lelit Elizabeth, I get a lower temperature. I don't know what is the optimal one, but I don't understand why and how it's happening.

I checked temps right after I finished brewing the coffee. The settings are the same (dark blend coffee brewed at 89°C real temperature and 25s, roasted a week ago. It should taste a little bitter I guess, with gianduia chocolate, eggnog and dried plum flavors, so pretty chocolaty coffee.)

The first cup, as you can see, the crema is darker. It measured 70°C right after. It tasted bitter but burnt bitterness. Here with bottomless portafilter.

The second cup, the crema is brighter. It measured 56°C right after. It was less bitter, and the bitterness is not burnt bitterness. Here with stock portafilter.

Is there a logical explanation? I'm thinking that the coffee touched stock portafilter materials and the temperature lowers before arriving in the cup, even if it's warm (since I shoot 3-4s of water with grouphead on the portafilter).

What's the correct temperature you should expect in the cup? Also yesterday I tried with medium roasted coffee on the bottomless portafilter, and it was burning on my tongue but I didn't measure the temp.

Good brew with [HiBREW G5] but not with [DF54]

I had suspect these days that my DF54 was the problem. I always had these slow flows first seconds and fast flows afterwards. I had no problems with HiBREW G5 for a year. Why now?

So I tested again my old HiBREW G5 and check flow and taste.

With HiBREW G5 the flow was constant and the taste was good.

With DF54 the flow was inconsistent and the taste was always bitter no matter what. Even when trying to brew in few seconds (14s).

I always aim to get shots around 20-27s.

I tried to grind at similar sizes, but maybe DF54 is grinding inconsistently. I understand that conical burrs are more permissive, and flat burrs not. But failing everyday for a month seems strange.

What's your guess? Should I return it and getting another? Or maybe it's normal (I hope not...)?

New to Lelit Elizabeth, coffee burnt [Lelit Elizabeth V3/DF54]

Coming from Bambino Plus after 1 year of use, new with Lelit Elizabeth since 4 days, really happy to have this monster machine.

What I’m experiencing is burnt coffee, even with reasonable brewing time. I searched all over the internet without results… I give you all the details:

I’m brewing an Blend origin medium roast for a ratio of 1:2 (18in, 36out) at 93°C setup on the machine. I’m using a DF54 grinder with stock flat burrs. The total brewing time was total of 14s with 3s of preinfusion. I know it’s too little, I was expecting a really sour shot, but instead I got a bitter burnt espresso…

I changed all the advanced settings to Dave Corbey ones.

I start brewing after 20 minutes I turned on the machine, and before start doing that I check the temperatures of the 2 boilers reaching the correct targeted temps.

The preparation is the classic one:

\- Purge a shot on the STOCK portafilter basket with IMS BigBang 18-20gr basket, and clean it, to warm it up.

\- Taking 18gr of coffee beans measured with a small scale, and sprout a couple of shots of water for RDT, and mixing it.

\- Slowly pouring the beans in DF54 while turned on, and placing the grinded coffee in the portafilter basket with dosator ring.

\- I use WDT enough to make everything uniform without lumps, and I do a gentle bump on the mat.

\- I remove the dosing ring and tamp with leveled tamper. I have also the NCD (distribution tool) but I rarely use it.

\- I put a 1mm puck screen (so it’s like having a 19gr in the basket).

\- I purge another fast shot (3s\~), clean with microfiber cloth, and attach the portafilter to the grouphead.

\- I place the cup pre-heated (I just place on top of the machine and it heates naturally) and scale underneath, and click the shot 1 button.

The result: 36gr of coffee, the coffee it’s not too hot, seems a good temperature. But the taste is bitter, but the burnt bitterness. And the puck was really dry, difficult to pull away from the portafilter. Really strange with 14s of brewing at 93°C…

As you can see, I’m doing literally all the stuff people do when brewing coffee, maybe also more than that.

I need to understand if I’m really missing something, or if something is not working properly. It’s more like the machine even if it says 93°C it’s working at higher temperatures like 110°C or something like that… I don’t know for sure, I’m going by logic since 14s for a bitter burnt coffee and super-dry puck seems the only logical explanation…

Thank you in advance if you read until here! ❤️

New owner of Gaggia Classic Pro E24, new problem

Recently bought from Amazon Italy the Gaggia. Fun fact: I paid 100€ more for the customs taxes, since it arrived from America instead of Italy, lol.

The problem is that this is the version for America, I didn't think enough about it. We use here nominal 240V/50Hz, in America 120V/60Hz. Even if I buy a step-down transformer I will have the 50Hz vs. 60Hz problem. The machine could not perform properly.

Is there any solution or it's better to send it back? :/

Thanks in advance

Going from Bambino Plus to Gaggia Classic Pro E24

Hello!

I'm into this hobby since one year. I was feeling okay with Bambino Plus, especially with 3 seconds startup, double boiler, PID, etc. But sometimes I struggled on some complex beans, I also knew recently that I have a defective factory problem and I need to contact the assistance. So I decided to change my machine.

You know that I'm going to buy again all accessories (58mm instead of 54mm), but if one day I will upgrade my Gaggia, I will probably have again a 58mm portafilter.

I already watched some videos, that's why I'm buying the E24 instead of the older one with boilergate problem.

I see that there are Gaggiuino and Gaggiamate mods that bring you complete esperience in one (brewing profiles, change pressure, change temperature, PID, balanced steam wand pressure, etc.). For now I don't want to spend other money but maybe at the end of the year I give me a present of one of them.

I already know that I need to startup the machine 15-20 minutes before brewing, a smart plug is suggested. You can have pre-infusion using the steam wand and you will have low-pressure. And also the steam wand needs like a minute before being ready.

Should I know some more before buying knowing that I'm coming from a Bambino Plus (like, on the E24 the steam wand is ok for making silky milk? etc.)

Happy to join the crew and sorry if this is the 89213th post

Strange behavior with Ethiopia washed beans [Bambino Plus/DF54]

Hello people,

I extract coffee since one year with my Bambino Plus and recently I bought DF54 flat burrs.

I always brewed without problems, sometimes you can get channeling and that's fine. But last month I decided to buy new coffee from another roastery, and they even cost like 22€-30€ per 250gr.

For now I played with 3 coffee beans:

- Ethiopia washed, more chocolaty

- Colombia natural, more chocolaty

- Ethiopia washed, more fruity

With Colombia zero problems. All good.

With Ethiopia washed I'm having always the same problem: the brewing is slow, and after that it's fast, this is with 15th level. I tried to go finer (14th level), and the result is always the same, at first the brewing is slower, maybe almost clogged when going to 13th level, and after that it goes fast and irregular.

I never found a solution. Every shot is like that: at first really slow, and after super fast like when you grind coarse.

I specified that I brew since one year and I didn't have problems like this so you can understand that it's not about grinding coarser/finer, neither channeling issues. You can have these sometimes, but not the entire 250gr bag of coffe everytime.

So I'm thinking that can be a DF54 issue, or maybe Bambino Plus over its capabilities and can't work with Ethiopia washed. But I want to know your opinion about this, to make new tests and find a solution.

Are there any other variables I'm missing but pressure and temperature that I cannot change with the Bambino? I know I will receice downvotes but I hope to receive also useful responses, I'm pretty stuck with this situation since one month and I'm wasting money to make black water and not coffee.

Hi everyone,

as someone suggested, it would be nice to have a Discord server to interact and share in real-time!

I created a simple server and you can access it to this link: https://discord.gg/G6RzhFQ3aY

We will expand channels, roles and its features by hearing the community suggestions!

The first quest for the community is: we need a new logo for the subreddit and Discord server.

Check out the #📢-announcements channel!

Since there are some people using or sharing AI models in their posts, I added two new flairs:

- "Just Sharing - AI Model"

- "Sharing STL resource - AI Model"

This is a FDM miniatures subreddit. We love printing and showing print results. Model is secondary. But I want to help the community by having these flairs, so the users who absolutely want to avoid AI stuff, they can.

Please use them and do not feel guilty to put in your post, nobody will eat you (if you are not delicious enough!), you would help the community to be at peace.

Thank you in advance and have happy printing times!
