There are so many different adaptations of Sherlock Holmes and I've always found it very fascinating to see how these books will always stay relevant and interesting to people. Tbh the first time I've read the original stories was because I've seen an adaptation that I absolutely loved and I wanted to get familiar with the original, and now it's one of my favorite things to read and talk about!

I'd love to know what people on here think about adaptations and about what they would've wished to see in adaptations in general :)

I am currently planning a book about pirates in a fantasy-like setting (low fantasy mostly, similar to the real world but with some magic/legends/etc) and I would really love to know what people like or dislike in books that are centred around pirates.

About the plot: I am the kind of person who really loves writing about everyday lives and character development in interesting settings. So there isn't a major antagonist or a big travel destination, my book is just about a new pirate captain who is trying to navigate the world.

(A question just for fun, because obviously everybody has different opinions etc.)
