According to the 1881 Canada census and his Obituary, he was born in Ontario, but on his WWI draft registration card his birthplace is listed as Pennsylvania, I've also found US census records with one of his children listing his fathers birthplace as Rhode Island, the rest say he was born in Quebec. I'm assuming my family crossed the border illegally with him as a child.
Here's what I know...
John Thomas Feeney.
Born: 1879 - 1883
Place: Euphrasia, Grey Highlands, Ontario.
His parents were from Huntingdon, Quebec and so were all of his siblings, they moved to Ticonderoga, New York and my G0 lived most of his life there until his death.
I can't find any records of his birth or baptism in Ontario whatsoever. Just the 1881 census.
My only hope is to contact the Diocese of Hamilton which I've already done but like everywhere else, they are slammed with requests right now.
