Hi all, I did 1.5mg for 1 month, 4mg for 2 months, and now 9mg for 1 month. In that time I’ve lost 7lbs. For the last 2 months I’ve been losing and regaining the same 3lbs. Anyone else have this happen?? It’s definitely working to a degree, as I’m not as hungry and I eat less. I’m thinking my body is just broken!
My prescriber just upped me to 25mg, so we’ll see how that goes.
I expected to be like 30lbs lighter by now, oh well. I eat healthy, a small lunch, if I even do eat lunch, and a healthy but bigger dinner with a salad and a lot of protein and complex carbs. I do OMAD most days. I walk 2-4 miles a day. 45 year old woman. 5’7 and 190lbs.
I returned a sweater that was absolutely gigantic and clearly a men’s garment. It wasn't remotely consistent with the brand’s standard women’s sizing.
Customer service told me I would receive a full refund, including not having to pay any return shipping fees.
Because the fee was still showing in their system, I contacted support a second time specifically to make sure the return hadn’t been entered incorrectly. Once again, they assured me that I would not be charged.
LUCKILY, I checked my credit card statement. They had quietly deducted the $10.99 shipping fee and refunded only the item cost.
When I contacted them again, they admitted the deduction but offered the missing $10.99 only as ThredUp credit. They then claimed they couldn’t return it to my card because the refund had already been processed. I have no intention of placing another order with them, so account credit is not a solution.
Even worse, the previous chat logs in which they promised me a full refund twice have disappeared from my account.
Apparently, “full refund” means keeping $10.99 unless the customer notices, then offering store credit instead. Check your statements.... and screenshot every support conversation!
ThredUp just cancelled my daughter’s ~$30 order because apparently she doesn’t count as a “new customer” if she lives at the same address as me lol.
She placed the order herself, in her own name, with her own credit card, on a new account, and used the 50% off first-order promo. They cancelled it because someone at the same household has ordered before.
I understand wanting to prevent people from making endless fake accounts, but two different adults living at the same address are still two different customers. If the promo is actually “one per household,” then just say that.
But honestly, maybe the bigger problem is the promotion itself. Why give 50% off to someone who has never bought anything from you, while your repeat customers who actually spend money with you get nothing comparable? It almost feels like you’re punishing people for already being customers.
Wouldn’t it make more sense to reward the behavior you actually want?
“Place a second order within 7 days and get 50% off your entire order!”
Or give a big discount after someone’s third order, reward frequent buyers, offer increasingly good bundle incentives, whatever. Give people a reason to keep shopping instead of constantly throwing the best deal at brand-new accounts and then aggressively policing who qualifies as “new.”
THAT would be smart. You’d turn a first purchase into a second purchase instead of irritating existing customers.
The funniest part is that her entire order was like $30. Why not just sell her the clothes??
And because it’s ThredUp, the cancelled items are now gone. They apparently won’t be relisted for 2–3 days, and when they do come back they’ll have completely different item numbers/listings, so she can’t even easily save them and check later.
Such an unnecessarily annoying system for a company whose entire business model is presumably SELLING THE CLOTHES THEY GOT FOR ALMOST NOTHING IN THE FIRST PLACE.
I found this Vineyard Vines T-shirt for $26.39, listed as a “Flawed Gem” and final sale.
When you zoom in, there are multiple grease stains and a weird area of discoloration across the front. They still put the estimated retail at $89 and call it 62% off, so the T-shirt for $26 gets presented as a great deal. Since it’s final sale, they can count on people missing the stains in the photos which are not pointed out. Plenty of buyers probably won’t bother fighting over $26 once it shows up and they're like WTF. I also hate how they hide the "flawed gem" condition description behind a click -- very scummy!
The whole business model seems to depend on inflated retail prices, constant coupon codes, and customers eventually giving up when something arrives in piss poor condition. This shirt should have been rejected or priced at like $6. There's nothing "gem" about a grease and bleach stained tshirt.
I’ve officially hit my breaking point with ThredUp.
Over the past week, my family has ordered three separate items, and every single one was seriously misrepresented:
Item 1 — Sweatshirt: Described as “faded,” which I reasonably assumed referred to the faded graphic on the front. Instead, it arrived with a massive yellow grease stain that was completely hidden in the photos.
Item 2 — Coat: Listed as having a “small hole on exterior.” What actually arrived was two huge seam rips in the interior armhole lining, one on each side. Wrong location, and definitely not “small.”
Item 3 — Dark sweater: Listed as having “noticeable wear on exterior.” Once again, it arrived with a large grease stain directly on the chest that wasn’t visible in the listing photos because the sweater is so dark.
How does a massive stain get categorized as generic “wear” instead of being disclosed as a stain?
Meanwhile, ThredUp regularly rejects about 95% of the items I send through Clean Out kits, including pieces my local consignment shop will happily buy for $10–$30 each.
I’m also increasingly uncomfortable with their variable pricing. My daughters and I have been shown different prices for the exact same items depending on which account is signed in, with one of my kids regularly seeing prices up to 30% higher.
Is anyone else noticing this decline in standards lately? Between the inaccurate condition descriptions, inconsistent pricing and increasingly poor quality control, I’ve completely lost trust in the platform and will be taking my business elsewhere.
I have a Robinhood Premier Checking & Savings account and would like to add my spouse and convert the banking accounts to joint accounts. However, the app also displays all of my investment accounts. If I add my spouse to the banking accounts, will they also be able to view my investments?
I would prefer to keep my investment accounts private. My spouse knows I have significant investments and understands that they are my separate personal accounts, but I am not comfortable giving them access to view the balances and holdings.
Will they just see our joint accounts or the investments too?
Just signed up for Alloy for perimenopause support (estradiol patch + tretinoin) and it was super straightforward.
If anyone’s looking to try it, here’s a referral code that should take some money off your first order:
EMILY189418
From what I can tell it works on the initial consult/first purchase. Sharing since I was hunting for codes earlier and figured I’d pass it along.
I used to get 20% off litter with VCP and 10% off $50+ with pick up in store. It seems I need to pick one or the other now, and it defaults to 10% off $50+ if I buy more than $50 of litter at a time. This is LAME.
Hi all
I got an email about the new program changes.
I have 2 vital premier or whatever it’s called memberships grandfathered in at $18/month. Is it worth keeping them? I was going to not renew come July because it takes like 5 hours for the poor cashier to load rewards (not their fault, the system is awful) and the perks seem lamer and lamer.
Just wondering what you all think of the changes before I waste my time researching them. The email was vague.
