New player here, helloo

Helloo, I've just started playing yesterday and am so excited. I'm still trying to wrap my head around things and was wondering if anyone has any tips or advice for a beginner player? Or anything you wish you'd known when you first started playing? Thank you in advance 🙏🏻

PC is a whole new world

I've just hit 1000 hours playing on switch exclusively, and have only just now discovered I can play on my laptop using my switch controller (I'm terrible with technology lol). It's like night and day with these graphics! I never realised how colourful the game actually is. The water actually has a reflection?? There are flowers and plants everywhere?? The clouds actually move?? The sun actually shines on things?? I feel like I'm playing a different game 🥲

The view is so underwhelming lol

Finally stood on top of the lighthouse and was quickly reminded of how lacklustre the graphics are on the Switch 😞

Summoning all switch players

I've played on switch 2 for a year now and haven't had any issues in terms of gameplay itself (no lagging, crashing, etc), however I'm very aware it's not as good as playing on PC, mainly due to optimisation.

I wanna know what my fellow switch players like and dislike about playing on switch? And is playing on switch your preference, or simply bc you can't play on PC?

For me, I love the tactile experience of playing on my switch, however, I do dislike how challenging participating in chat is (a given since I'm playing on a console), and how much detail we don't see when playing on switch (the flowers! The colours! The detailed scenery!)

Conflicting beliefs with family

I'm the babiest of baby witches and am needing some advice. I've very recently decided to finally accept and embrace the fact I've always found myself drawn to magick and witchcraft, and am beginning my journey.

This new journey goes against my family's beliefs (I was raised Christian, personally stopped practicing in my late teens) and I know it's something I won't be able to share with them, at least not for the foreseeable future. I'm in my early 30s and live independently, however remain very close with my family.

Has anyone here experienced having to keep your practice and beliefs from people close to you bc they're openly against it? Did it affect you at all? And did you end up telling them? Any advice on how to manage this would be much appreciated by this conflicted and slightly lost baby witch :')

Why is simply existing so challenging sometimes?

I feel like my autism is getting harder to manage as I get older (almost mid 30s) and it's so frustrating bc I feel like I should know how to by now.

I've navigated most of my life masking very heavily and live a relatively independent life, but I feel like I've been in a constant state of autistic burnout since 2023 and it's honestly exhausting. Things I used to find easy now feel impossibly hard, and my (already subpar) people skills are dwindling at a steady rate.

People around me have also started noticing a shift. I've been told "you never used to find these things difficult", "you were so fun when we were younger", and "you never used to be this rigid", and people will occasionally show signs of annoyance when I don't mask as intensely as I used to.

Please tell me I'm not the only one experiencing this? 😭

Please excuse my rambling (and apologies if I'm in the wrong place!). I'm 32F and realised I'm ace a few years ago which I feel comfortable with, but I'm now also seriously questioning my ability to experience romantic attraction. For context, I've been in multiple relationships in the past (nothing since 2020), which were all physical and romantic, but I'd always struggle in the beginning. Developing romantic feelings never felt natural and I'd have to convince myself I had feelings for someone (I thought this was "normal" at the time lol) and my relationships would get physical pretty quickly bc it felt like something I needed to "get out of the way" so I could get used to it.

I'll be 33 soon and I'm at a point where I want companionship, but I have absolutely no interest in romantic dating. I've tried dating apps and being set up, however I've immediately backed out of both bc it felt so icky and uncomfortable. It's still kind of difficult to describe how it makes me feel.

I've recently been reading and learning about QPRs and the concept resonates a lot with me, but although I'm interested, I'm afraid this also wouldn't be possible for me bc it's not very common (at least where I live).

Sorry for the word vomit, I guess I'm just wondering how others have handled this, if they've experienced something similar, and if they have any advice? I feel like I'm grieving the loss of what I thought my "ideal" life would be, even if it turns out I never actually wanted it in the first place.
