Why do I get accused of being a Jew by many Muslims online whenever I bring up a point against Islam?
I often see, on social media, posts and videos praising Islam by, for example, highlighting verses they believe introduce some scientific foreknowledge, why certain practices they deem beneficial further "prove" that Islam is the true religion, and so on.
I generally leave a comment under these posts explaining my perspective when I disagree. However, most of the time, I receive hostile comments from other Muslims accusing me of being a fake MOSSAD agent, a Jew in disguise, a Yehudi, a Zionist, or whatever Jew-related label they adore bringing up.
But it's not just that. Whenever anyone at all makes any, literally any, claim that doesn't favour Islam, they get responded to with accusations of associations with Israel, GIFs with text reading "ABSOLUTE JUDAISM," and so on.
I do not defend the Jewish religion in the slightest, nor do I defend Israel—in fact, I am a staunch believer that Judaism represents at least the same problems as Islam, the only difference being that it's not as proselytising and propagating as the latter, so it doesn't get as much theological criticism or attention among non-Jews, unlike Christianity or Islam. However, I am quite fatigued by the fact that we cannot even talk against Islam without being baselessly labelled as a Jew. Especially in today's political climate, and on social media, where antisemitism is highly promoted, such accusations only discredit the arguments against Islam and discourage anyone from looking further/deeper into the religion.
Social media is truly a cesspool of absolute idiocy and lack of nuance/complexity/critical thinking.
Edit: Grammar.
Moroccans living abroad who say that life in Europe/the US/AUSNZ isn't that different to Morocco profoundly annoy me.
Disclaimer: I do not condone the invasion at the Ceutan border today; my post is unrelated.
I understand that all countries have their own issues, but I absolutely despise when a Moroccan living in a country such as, say, Sweden, claims that life in Sweden is just as hard as life in Morocco, and therefore does not understand why certain Moroccans want to move abroad.
A lifestyle supported by a blue-collar salary is a marginal improvement from an analogous salary in Morocco. Even if you're employed at, say, McDonald's in Sweden, you still earn enough to afford a flat, a car to drive, and to save up for occasional holidays in Europe. These luxuries often do not exist for those working for fast food chains in Morocco.
The general infrastructure and state of cleanliness are generally of higher quality, and personal liberties are more numerous.
I am almost tempted to ask each person who makes similar claims why they haven't decided to live in Morocco instead, since they have more family roots attached to that place than the one they currently live in. I am ready to wager that the reason is "quality of life," which immediately disproves their very claim.
Why are so many restaurant menus AI slop?
I've just come back from a first-time trip to Geneva, and I was surprised by how common AI-generated posts were. Restaurant menus, event announcements, everything. Even at the airport.
There's clearly a defining style that makes them quite obvious to spot, and they're, in my opinion, very ugly.
ETA: One menu somewhere close to Petit-Saconnex even had "CHE" instead of "CHF."
American thinks that "Western cities" meant "cities in the West of the US."
I am (slightly) incorrectly cited in others' papers.
Hi all,
I have a composite family name (X Y) and everyone that mentions me keeps writing it as Y. It recently happened in another paper that cited mine and wrote "Y et al" instead of "X Y et al."
How do I deal with it so that it doesn't happen again? Should I mention that on my personal webpage? Should I hyphenate my family name?
Field: theoretical computer science.
Thanks!
Jacket potato: tuna (and mayonnaise); baked beans, one tsp of crispy onions, and pieces of veggies. Fair estimate?
What are your thoughts on that?

**User:** Explain to me, where in any point in history, when Islam came to a community and improved that community?
**Qasim Rashid:** Muslims invented modern surgery, hospitals, and anesthetic, modern universities, modern toothbrushes, vaccinations, daily bathing, coffee, algorithms, algebra, Hishaam Ibn Haythan literally discovered the Scientific Method, Prophet Muhammad (sa) established separation of religion and state, and the list goes on. Did I mention coffee? Reading is your friend.
Does he exaggerate or falsely attribute certain inventions to Muslims?

Thoughts on the new Korean place in Renshaw Market?
What do you think of K-Kitchen? Personally, I found it overly expensive for the basic dishes they provide. (£11 for a relatively small bowl of Kimchi rice?)
