Picked up a fully functional Yamaha 580SE for 40 bucks.
As an owner of a KX-930 and a KX-1200, I’m reluctant to pick up more Yamaha’s but the 580SE has always intrigued me. Specs are supposed to be quite high, recording has a good reputation and it has Dolby S.
At this price and in this condition, I couldn’t say no.
Anybody else have this deck? Any feedback is welcome..
Les proprios précédents de ma maison ont peint le parquet en blanc et je veux le faire poncer pour revenir au bois. Le souci c’est la peinture qui reste entre les lattes qui est difficile et chronophage à enlever. La solution proposée est de poncer au point de faire disparaître les chanfreins et de ce fait la peinture entre chaque latte. Je précise que ce n’est pas un vieux parquet et pas situé dans la pièce principale mais dans une chambre.

J’ai eu affaire à ce cas de figure plusieurs fois récemment. Les articles étaient indiqués comme étant “neuf sans étiquette” et décrits comme “en superbe état” dans le texte. À réception ce n’était clairement pas le cas et j’ai direct demandé le retour. A part faire perdre du temps à tout le monde, quel est l’intérêt de faire ça??

My set up is mainly comprised of a Cambridge Audio CXA and CXC combo with a Technics SL-1500 turntable, Nakamichi 680 cassette deck and Dynaudio Evoke speakers. All works well but visually quite neutral, especially the amp and cd transport. I added a Wiim Ultra recently which has a digital VU meter option but it’s quite a small screen.
I’d like to add more visuals and the graphic equalizer/spectrum analyzer option seems interesting. Any suggestions? Budget being 150 euro more or less.
Ps: Is there a spectrum analyzer only out there ? I don’t really feel the need for an equalizer.

I see a lot of cassette affecionados presenting their collections full of great music, often old classics..
I did want to say that there’s also a ton of new tunes being released on tape these days too.
Although the quality can very, most of these contempary release are well recorded and sound good.
You have to know where to look online but they’re there.
