Rick Oleson Brightscreen - Magic

Just received my Rick Oleson Brightscreen, this one is diagonal split focus aid in a microprism collar (BrightScreen MPD). Absolutely stunning quality and so easy to focus. Highly recommend this upgrade.

On a side note, stay away from those Chinese screens on eBay. Removing it was a nightmare, they are poorly finished and burred around the edges. It was snagged at the bottom edges on the slide spring thing, lucky to get it out without fucking the camera. Got a full eBay refund months after purchase. (See pic 7)

Finally pulled the trigger

Finally bought the lens I’ve really wanted for years, the Voigtlander 35mm Ultron. I’ve never read a bad report about it, and hearing that production on these has stopped was what made me pull the trigger.

I’ll probably hang onto the Mandler as I like the character effect. The clinical sharpness of the Voigt is more me though.

For my Australian friends, Mainline have these on sale at the moment, they are amazing to deal with. Hit them up 👌

Anyone else tackling C41 processing with an 8 reel Paterson tank, manual inversion? It’s been years since I’ve done colour myself, currently using the Ilford 2.5L kit. The time it takes to get so much chemistry in and out of the large tank is a concern with such tight dev duration.

Are you all generally using smaller tanks for home developing? Or anyone going for gold with the big boy?

Yet to scan my films, hoping for good results!

It’s been years since I’ve processed C41, I used to have a bucket of hot water to keep the temp up in the tank, without temp control. Results were always fine.

Upping my game and bought this Sous Vide from Amazon, it’s amazing for the price, $80 AUD posted. Temps are spot on compared with my Paterson thermometer. Super quiet too. Highly recommend!
