Wuben X4 battery latch 3D p[rinted replacement V2 now locking.

I added a locking mechanism to my design.
Sometimes while in my pocket, my first version latch would get pressed by something and the battery would pop out.
I added a sliding lock to prevent that from happening.

so frustrated rn

I'm a long time Ubuntu user (since 5.10 or so). Up until earlier this year I was still running 22.04 and it was running great for the most part. I am running an old Dell Dimension office PC with an old radeon rx-570. I have 5 external hard drives connected thru a usb 3.0 pcie card. I run Plex media server and host the libraries on some of those drives.

Wanting to update to the latest Ubuntu, I did a clean install of 26.04 and I've had nothing but trouble. I keep having issues with Plex and jdownloader2 not seeing some of my drives. I search for answers and find out that depending on if i installed a snap, flatpak, or deb that might cause issues with seeing external drives. Also the change in 26.04 to mounting external drives under /run/media/username/ threw me off at first. I also found some answers that say to add Plex to a user group with permissions to access external drives. like wtf!

I remember the older version of Ubuntu having in the app settings toggles for various permissions including accessing external drives. Where did that go in the new version because i cannot find it anywhere.

I just uninstalled Plex snap, installed the deb version but it still doesn't see all of my drives. Also, now i can't even find Plex in the app center to uninstall it if i need to. same thing with jdownloader2.

I'm about to give up on Ubuntu!

edit: my drives also keep mounting at different locations after a reboot and break my library settings in Plex.

i need help identifying this SMD component

i was putting my piBrick together and accidentally made this tiny component come of the board of the Raspberry pi CM5. One of the spacers pinched it and made it come off.

after it would not boot I started inspecting the cm5 and I found two pads that were empty and when I looked at pictures online of a cm5 there is supposed to be three of those black squares and there's only two on the bottom row. if I can find a replacement I know I can resolder it back on to the board. with the shortage of and price of compute module fives I really need to get this one fixed.

just need to rant a little

I have several external HD that host my Plex library. I need to back two of them up as they are starting to act up. I bought a 12TB Western digital mybook at Walmart on clearance for $209 when i got to my car i noticed the box had tape on it so i opened it to find what appears to me a case that had been shucked. Whatever was inside was loose and I could hear something rattling around. I immediately went inside and got a refund. The worst part for me is that I really need the storage and that was the only one in stock at all the Walmarts in my area for that price. I hope to maybe be able to snag something on sale for memorial Day weekend.

Question about these metal contacts!?

I just so happened to be looking at my loose collection when i noticed on the bottom of the matchbox moving parts 2006 Ford Crown Victoria State trooper car that it has two circular metal dots, one on each side. Any clue as to what the heck they are for?
