How to stop being dependent on crushes for joy?

Today was my first day of junior year and I have 0 classes with my crush. I know this sounds stupid, but without being able to see my crush, I have no motivation for school and I fall back into loneliness and immense sadness.

I have struggled with intense loneliness for years now, and having a crush has helped me distract myself and allows me to have something to look forward to when attending school. I never really interacted with my crush, but knowing he was there was enough for me to want to get out of bed and go to school to just be in his presence.

I’m aware I’m probably putting my crush on a pedestal and liking a romanticized version of him since I don’t actually know him, but I recognize it as a coping mechanism to get through my school days. However, now that I have absolutely no classes with him, I am already starting to feel upset in a way I can’t explain. I don’t have a lot of friends so now my school experience feels unbearable.

Sorry if this sounds idiotic and childish, but I have seriously been relying on my crushes for years now to have motivation.

And no, I can’t find a new crush, there is no one else I am interested in who’s in my classes.

Thanks in advance.

Need help finding a good glueless wig quick!

I want to find a good glueless wig for wearing 5 days a week for 9 hours (school) for around 2 months.

I have searched and found outre is a well regarded brand, but the price seems decent so I don’t know if the quality would be that great for almost daily wear if it is not very expensive?

I have also looked at brownbomb on TikTok, their wigs are very pretty and what I am sort of looking for, but I have heard it has noticeable knots & very thin hair at the top which I don’t want. (But if anyone has a brownbomb wig please let me know if you think it would last 2 months of constant wear).

I don’t mind if the wig is straight or wavy (although I don’t know what curly looks like on me), I want colors that are not too bright such as caramel ish brown hair or black hair,or dark red/purple/blue, or calico, or neutral blue-teal (basically any colors not neon or too bright) I don’t want super long hair, medium or shoulder length is fine.

Please recommend me a wig brand or a wig itself! Thank you in advance 🤍

Recommend me more + what genre is this?

I want more songs for my daily playlist so feel free to recommend me some!

I have no idea what genre zay is considered to be, but here are some other artists I love & listen to:
Smino, Aaron may, Westside boogie, noname, Saba, Vince staples, Wale the sage, JID, earthgang, dreamville, j cole, MAVI, joey bada$$, cordae, (etc in other genres)

I feel like the ones listed above are somewhat related even if not much, so I would love for more recommendations like them (especially more like isaiah!) also what genre would you categorize those above?

Thanks in advance!

Need help with a bad bob!

I have had a bob for 6 months now, but recently cut it to be even shorter. My hair is naturally wavy but ever since I got a shorter bob, it has had trouble holding any waves.

My hair now curls towards my face like a mushroom which I HATE! I would style my wavy bob then wake up with the waves ALL gone (unless I use hair spray but it itches my head) I have resulted to curling my hair with a hair straightener almost every day, but of course that is probably not a good practice due to potential heat damage. I also considered getting a perm but I’ve heard it can cause even more damage + expensive.

Also, one thing is that I cut my own hair, so I don’t know if it might be because of how I cut it which is why it resulted in a mushroom bob or not.

I am looking for advice on whether or not I should get a perm and if a perm would give me the results I want, or if I should just stick with curling my hair, or is there a certain way to cut your hair so it doesn’t curl inward, or other tips for styling it overall.

Thank you in advance to everyone!:)

Need help with if I should take AP art history

For context, I am a rising junior currently placed into AP art history. I do not have an art credit yet which is required for graduation.

I like art but don’t like art classes. I like clay sculpturing and attempted to request going into a ceramics class but was rejected because the teacher said I had to take art 1 before ceramics.

I enrolled myself into AP art history because I didn’t want an actual art class and wanted the GPA boost. HOWEVER, after some thinking, I am unsure if I really do want to take the class. My friend took it her freshman year and said it was a lot of memorization. The problem is I don’t want the class if it requires immense studying. My schedule is already a little rough (AP chem, APUSH, AP lang, AP pre calc, self studying AP calc ab, etc)

For those who have taken the class, please let me know how hard it was and if it required a lot of studying or not. I am unsure as I don’t have any other art class I wanna take but I also don’t want to burn out. But also, in my freshman year I sort of messed up my GPA which is why I want to avoid taking non AP’s if possible.

Recommend me life changing philosophical mangas

I have read several mangas including the popular ones such as good night pun pun, homunculus (not finished), the climber, vagabond, vinland saga, watched monster (not finished), solanin (not finished), skip & loafer, etc.

However, despite me liking all of the ones above, they did not feel life changing to me. Perhaps it is due to my age (17), but I still yearn for a manga that speaks to me.

For reference, pun pun was quite underwhelming for me due to how hyped up it was. Vagabond was good, but it felt like it took so long just to get to the part where you can really see development without it being back and forth (farming arc) although i did like the “invincible is just a word” thing but I disliked how he would then go on to just kill and kill (perhaps it is also due to me not knowing much about zen buddhism), although I do have to say I loved the quotes in Vagabond and takuan is my favourite character. The climber was good as well but there were times where it was quite uninteresting to me. Vinland saga was good, but It wasn’t deep enough for me.

I am hoping to get some more recommendations, thanks in advance!

Rising Junior with no passion & barely any extracurriculars

I am looking to go into pre med but feel like I lack actual motivation and the ability to do so. I have good grades (4.0 unweighted, 4.6 weighted), but not much extracurriculars aside from a few small clubs.

I feel especially behind due to my best friend being the valedictorian and doing many activities. I am really unathletic and have no particular hobbies I want to pursue. I love science and have decided on medicine due to not being interested in anything else.

Recently, I have taken up volunteering at a hospital once a week for the next 6 months but I have heard that hospital volunteering does not do much in terms of resumes. I enjoy volunteering in itself, but in terms of my future, I do not know how to make myself seem more impressive for colleges.

I struggle with my mental health and my inconsistency, as sometimes I am incredibly determined to do well to prepare for college whereas other times I become lazy and exhibit depressed behaviors.

I feel like I have wasted my summer as I have just been reading mangas and doom-scrolling, with occasional studying. I know pre med is specifically competitive, and I feel overwhelmed and defeated by just thinking about it. I am not trying to go to an ivy league, but I still want to go to a good/great university.

Any recommendations would be highly appreciated on what I could do to strengthen my resume such as programs (I want ones DURING the school year or during winter break if possible, as I will have to travel next summer break).
